Montecristo Petit Tubos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 23 October, 2018
This has become my stock/bench Mark cigar. Good value, good flavour. When non cigar smokers want to try one, this is what I recommend. I ensure I always have a couple of these laying around. However, having smoked around 10 of these, I would say that 2 of them have had burning problems. One was recoverable with a bit of managing, the other I decided to cut before halfway and start again. Ended up chucking it. Have ordered more since though.

Montecristo Open Eagle Cigar - Box of 20
Date Added: Sunday 21 October, 2018
Picked up a nearly full box of these in Spain from a friend who found them too mild. After 5 weeks in the humi, tried the first one. The construction is good, though loosely packed. I suggest the price reflects this low density. There is nothing offensive in this cigar and if that sounds like faint praise, it is. Its ok, but lacks interest. I would choose an Edmundo over this, every time.

Montecristo Petit Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 04 October, 2018
My previous review of the Petit Edmundo was severe! That sensation of trying to draw on a stub of tarry rope was durable. Yet my esteemed follow of Kicas (Kingsbarns Cigar Appreciation Society) was unfazed, he remains a dogged devotee of the Pet Ed. So, thinks I, either Johnny boy has no tastebuds - possible, in view of his unstinting persuit of Italian waitresses, preferably tattooed, preferably named Magda, or the Pet Eds reviewed were simply a bad batch. Johnnys oddities apart, we found ourselves in Davidoffs around midnight in Monte Carlo the other evening, perusing the humidor stock. (If you were thinking of robbing the place, I wouldnt: the night staff look quite ready to repel boarders.) Thats not a public school joke. Nor a reference to Russians. To cut it short, J. chose a Pet Ed. in that relentless way of his, which I ended up smoking for him (to repay him for smoking MY R&J Short Churchill), on practically the same Monaco balcony as the last time. The main difference was that this Pet Ed. was a very fine smoke, with none of the harshness, draw issues, or burn problems repo

Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 20 August, 2018
Great Cigar and just as the description in the tasting notes, I thoroughly enjoyed with an espresso in the afternoon. No issues at all with the draw, in fact it burned a tad to fast but not noticible enough to ruin the smoke, nice creamy white plumes of smoke and a leathery slightly peppery aftertaste, particularly in the final third. Excellent value.

Montecristo Petit No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 17 August, 2018
Loved this one. Nice 40 minute smoke with lots of flavour took my time as I normally smoke only lighter cigars needed to spike it through with a wooden skewer as it was a bit juicy but it didnt put me off like some cheaper smokes. Will be buying more.

Montecristo Linea 1935 Dumas Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 05 August, 2018
Montecristo Linea 1935 Dumas It’s not often that you get to try an entirely new cigar, especially one from a range as hotly anticipated as the Linea 1935. I am a fan of Montecristo in general and as I have matured as a cigar smoker, I have always found myself relying on the old stalwarts like the No2. Having tried the Open series and enjoyed them, but not ‘loved’ them, I was really looking forward to a chance to smoke a Linea 1935. I ordered two of each of the Leylanda and Dumas and they were delivered a couple of weeks ago, by the team at CGars. I would normally put my cigars away in the humidor for at least 6 months before I smoke them, but the anticipation was killing me and I was unable to wait that long. I picked a Dumas, as this is the size closest in size to a robusto, my favoured smoke. Construction is almost as good as it ever gets, a truly lovely wrapper, nut brown but with with an oily sheen and some darker depth to it. The cap was beautifully constructed and almost looks seamless from a distance, but when you get close you can see real precision to the workmans
