Certainly not a bad blend. The rum topping is present in the retrohale but is quickly lost in the taste. As an aromatic this is lacking in taste, but as a tobacco blend it is certainly a pleasant and smooth smoke. Due to this, it is not one I will buy in bulk but not a wasted sample by any means.

Dark, smokey, rich and just a touch rough. If you like that description then you'll like this blend. It has a definite no nonsense no frills taste that you smoke when you want a heavy hitter and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. Thankfully no floral taste to be had here so the true dark fired leaves take centre stage without interruption. No idea why it's called Coniston, possibly the steam gondola, but it's one of my favourite places in the world so this earns an extra star for that.

This was a mystery cigar with my order. This cigar has the darkest wrapper I’ve seen it is almost black making you think it will be full bodied. However, this was pretty deceptive and was more medium, full of rich freshly brewed coffee flavour throughout with notes of walnuts, peppery spices and the final third became more earthy with a hint of cloves. Some of the other reviews have said that the draw is hard and while the cigar is packed tight I found the draw to be good and the construction was immaculate as was the burn. Will buy more of these, which is a perk of the mystery cigar as this is something I would never ever choose otherwise

Very enjoyable smoke and longer than the advertised which only adds to the value of this product.
A nice sweet taste to this cigar and a definite one to go onto the re order list.

Kendal Dark Pipe Tobacco (Loose)

I have been smoking this for a few years now.
This has a very old fashioned feel to it and I think it’s meant to. “ Put that in your pipe and smoke it “is a saying that is very apt. I can imagine the working man from years ago doing just that. Ridiculously easy to pack and light up. This is also has a very refined and simple taste. Think , woody and nutty. Kendal Dark is a good quality tobacco, which should be of no surprise.
I can recommend this very highly.

Just an update on my first review. I found that if you pack it fairly tightly the machine oil taste comes back. I suppose that it concentrates the tobacco more, which in turn encourages the original taste to come through.
