I still remember the day I was at a BBQ and a friend handed me a VegaFina. I was fairly new to cigars at the time and had never heard of the brand. That one cigar changed things rather quickly. VegaFina went straight onto my favourites list and, having worked my way through a frankly irresponsible number of them since, I am yet to have a bad one.
The 1998 is a particularly good example of why I rate the brand so highly. The draw is excellent, the burn behaves itself and the flavour is rich, woody and slightly sweet without ever becoming heavy. It produces a lovely amount of smoke and has enough character to keep you interested without demanding your full concentration like some overexcited dinner guest.
For me this cigar absolutely loves a V cut. It opens the draw beautifully and seems to let the sweeter and woodier flavours come through without making things too loose.
And of course, 1998 is widely regarded by absolutely nobody with any scientific authority as roughly the peak of human civilisation, so naming a cigar after it was always going to set expectations rather high

Vegueros Centrogordos Cigar - 1 Single

I was really enjoying this Vegueros Centrogordos Cigar. I really like the flavour and construction was perfect with even burn I did need to relight it once. Flavour wasn't too complex but a good Cuban cigar tast.

Received this as my Mystery Premium Cigar offer. My first impressions were that this was a very well constructed cigar and, after cutting, the cold draw was very good, neither too firm or too loose. It takes the flame very well and, after a slightly uneven start, the burn line quickly evens out. Initial flavours are predominantly of leather with a slight nuttiness drifting in and out and cedar in the background. This is certainly on the stronger side of medium to full in flavour and strength, so may not be suited to less seasoned smokers although, having said that, my first ever Cuban was a Bolivar - so what do I know! I didn't really notice much in the way of transition in the flavours as the smoke progressed, they just got a little stronger in the final third. Although this wasn't really to my taste or palate ( I would much rather have a Monte ), I honestly can't fault the way that this cigar performed. The draw and burn were high on perfect and it lasted almost an hour. Plus it only cost me twenty pounds so it has to be five stars from me.

Strong but very nice, for a factory machine made cigars you can’t go wrong with villiger cigars, this is one of my favourites but being machine pressed the last third can get a bit tricky to smoke without getting bits in your mouth

Vegueros Entretiempos Cigar - 1 Single

I was really impressed by this delightful cigar and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well-constructed with a generous cap so I decided on a V-cut. Its fine flavour was immediately apparent and developed further as I smoked it. Very even burn (outdoors with a a slight breeze) and held its light grey ash until I removed at around 1 1/2 inches. Honestly I found this example better than some of the more expensive and better known Havana cigars. Even the band came off easily once it felt the heat, unlike some other Cubans. Moral of the story - don't just buy for the name.
I'm now considering one of the tins of 16.

Stunning stick - from beginning to end. Found mine slightly tight and but still enjoyed thoroughly. Few touch ups along the way. Going to purchase again as it was peppery citrus and cedar Nicaraguan strength and paired nicely with a sweet scrumpy cider..
