Montecristo Open Regata Cigar - 1 Single (Best Dad Band)
Date Added: Monday 19 August, 2019
Very disappointing for the price. I bought this to celebrate my daughter being born. The draw was difficult so I had to snip off a bit more than what I started with. The burn was a bit uneven and not as attractive as other similar priced cigars. There was a really hard block of ash in the middle towards the end so I dont know what that was or if that had anything to do with my bad experience. Taste was bland but ok. Maybe a one off looking at the other reviews but I wont be buying this brand again.

Montecristo Media Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 24 July, 2019
Having previously had an unpleasant experience with a couple of Media Corona’s (impossible draw, uneven burn) before, I tried one again the night before last as it had arrived as the mystery cigar as part of the C.gars monthly subscription. This time, I’m happy to report, there was a much improved outcome. The 44 x 90mm vitola is the smallest of the Cuban Montecristo family but certainly looks the part - it normally comes presented in a unique sliding tin of 5. This one proved to be an easy 30 minutes, delivering plentiful smoke output and a very pleasant aroma. Strength was upper medium. Used a simple punch cut which was ideal for the RG and it was easy enough to fire up. I did however find the overall taste not particularly complex and in my view the cigar came across as a little undemanding but still enjoyable smoke. Probably not too surprising given the relatively short size. That said, I did detect a definite caramel sweetness lingering in the background which was rather pleasant. This example has had a month or two in the humi at 69• which I think helped and i

Montecristo Petit No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 14 July, 2019
My first impressions of this cigar are quite good: Construction was solid, burn was even, draw was open and I could puff away at a slow pace without it going out on me. As far as the flavours were concerned it had that classic Cuban profile and the unmistakable Montecristo flavours, although it wasnt quite as full on as the regular No. 2. Very creamy from start to finish with very mild hints of spice and almonds although I agree with the review from Scott that the cigar actually seems to get blander as it progressed. In my limited experience most cigars start to wake up in the second or final third but not so with the Petit No. 2. This isnt necessarily a bad thing since the flavours were very enjoyable, but it did leave me feeling like I wanted a little bit more out of the cigar. I think the smoking time of 30-45 minutes is pretty accurate provided youre the kind of person who will smoke down to the nub and doesnt mind the smoke getting a little hot. While it was an enjoyable 45 minute smoke, the fact that the cigar didnt really seem to develop beyond the first light loses it poi

Montecristo No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 17 May, 2019
I purchased a single Monte 2 back in August 2018 and finally got around to smoking it.The flavours were phenomenal; smooth and creamy to begin with, gradually developing into a combination of almond, cedar and spice, the smoke leaving a oily finish on the lips and palette. Unfortunately the construction was definitely not up to scratch; The draw was so loose it felt like I was sucking through an empty straw, I had to double-puff regularly to get decent smoke output and it went out 3-4 times in the space of an hour if I put it down for more than just 30 seconds. In the final third the cigar finally started smoking like a chimney and the flavours really kicked it up a notch but the strength kicked up too and since Im a bit of a lightweight I had to lay the cigar down... before having a little lie down myself! Despite all the problems I had with the Monte 2 it was still by far the most enjoyable and best tasting cigar I have had to date. On my budget the Monte 2 is by no means an everyday smoke and buying a 10/25 is unlikely, but setting aside a pack of 3 for special occasions is def
