A great quick smoke in my opinion,I prefer these to the Romeo y Julieta

I purchased a single Monte 2 back in August 2018 and finally got around to smoking it.The flavours were phenomenal; smooth and creamy to begin with, gradually developing into a combination of almond, cedar and spice, the smoke leaving a oily finish on the lips and palette. Unfortunately the construction was definitely not up to scratch; The draw was so loose it felt like I was sucking through an empty straw, I had to double-puff regularly to get decent smoke output and it went out 3-4 times in the space of an hour if I put it down for more than just 30 seconds. In the final third the cigar finally started smoking like a chimney and the flavours really kicked it up a notch but the strength kicked up too and since Im a bit of a lightweight I had to lay the cigar down... before having a little lie down myself!
Despite all the problems I had with the Monte 2 it was still by far the most enjoyable and best tasting cigar I have had to date. On my budget the Monte 2 is by no means an everyday smoke and buying a 10/25 is unlikely, but setting aside a pack of 3 for special occasions is def

Obviously a quick smoke

The wrapper before you smoke it is very sweet tasting but is almost artificial (too damn sweet). The smoke is quite bitter and nothing like what the wrapper smells or tastes like. But its quite good considering the price (seriously its cheap) and how short and thin it is. Good for those who dont have time for a 20-40 cigar sesh. Smokes for about 5 minutes. Dont try and smoke it too quickly it will burn your lips (I did this once when i was in a rush😅)

This cigar was great. During the first third I had a bit of a wonky burn, but after a quick correction it burnt beautifully right up until the nub. The ash held incredibly well which is a testament to its construction. As for tasting notes I had, earthy, leathery and slight peppery tones right up until the last third where sweet dark chocolatey molasses took over. The reason I am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars is, in my taste, it was more full bodied than medium as described. But that is just my taste and should take nothing from the cigar itself.

I was very excited for this cigar ! I was eager to try such a well known and loved cigar. Unfortunately my experience was not all good !
The worst thing about this cigar was the burn. It was so uneven and unfortunately I had to re light and touch up this cigar many times and even cut it again as the burn was that bad !
ThatÂ’s the only bad thing about this cigar, maybe I just got a bad batch. The flavour on the other hand was good ! It was creamy and earthy, the flavour profile stays the same untill the last 1/3, when it changed to more of a chocolate/ coffee. Unfortunately I put the cigar out shortly after the half way mark as the flavours were changing due to the bad burn.
Definitely a good beginners cigar and I would recommend to try it !
