My introduction to Padron has left a strong impression.
As others have stated in their reviews, the draw on this seems to be rather looser than what I’m used to so it may be the cause for a lot of people reporting the cigar leaving them lightheaded, as I also came away feeling the same. Taking heavier hits of nicotine than usual per draw naturally leads to this outcome.
That being said, what an experience. A smooth, aromatic flavour throughout, enjoyed outside in the rare October sun was the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. The Padron 2000 is everything cigars should be. I cannot wait to explore from the range

A truly fantastic latakia based blend. It burns to a perfect white ash, offers a quintessential smokey camp fire taste, and if sipped gently there is no risk of tongue bite. Whilst not the deepest mix of flavours, it is a perfect all day blend and one to have in the cellar for when you can't decide what you're in the mood for. If you like latakia, this is a staple in the category.

An undeniably good blend which delivers in character but just doesn't quite have the depth I was hoping for. Think a lighter spicy version of the gorgeous haunted bookshop. Definitely a nice smoke, burns to a lovely white ash, and perfect for a relaxing night smoke, just not quite what I was hoping for. I'll enjoy the rest of the sample and no doubt will begin to lean more favourably towards it. It's popular for a good reason and well worth a go.

There's definitely a caramel topping to taste here but the sweetness tastes too artificial for my liking. It is an easy pack, easy burn, but you're one slightly energetic sip away from tongue bite every step of the way. Sadly this is not for me. There are better caramel blends out there, but clearly I'm just not a fan of aromatics no matter how much I try.

Today's treat.
This has Mitchell Orchant all over it! Beautifully presented and shouting care and attention.
A really nice wrapper, no marks or blemishes expertly applied and with that lovely slight sheen that I love to see. Even the cap is a work of art. The band is cool as well, nice bit of design. Stands well shoulder to shoulder with the Mitchellero Robusto in its appearance and build quality.
Cold draw, light and easy. I like it but others will want a little more restriction. Flavour, hints of what's to come but no one thing standing out.
Bring on the flame. First draw, different and confusing, took another straight away. This stick was different. I've smoked a lot of Nicaraguan sticks over the last couple of weeks and this is a big change I think. Not super experienced with Honduran leaf, and usually as a component in a blend but this stick tells the story.
The main thing I got was that smell and taste when sitting around a log campfire and the wind delivers you a hefty portion of smoke, this is not a bad thing just a change from the norm. This very slowly buil

This blend gets a lot of love but sadly for me I got nothing from it. I tried it moist, slightly dry, and crispy, it just never improved or had any flavour. I trust that good tobacco was used but I didn't even get that. I'm glad I have it a go but happy I didn't commit to a tin.
