Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 11 June, 2018
I have delayed trying one of these due the reports of a very tight draw, but finding myself in the London store with a lovely expert offering to personally choose one to my requirements how could I possibly say no? I am very glad that I finally decided to try one. The creamy inhale with undertones of spice and slight pepper on the lips by the second third was delightful (I found the first third a little mild and one dimensional, but extremely smooth nonetheless). The strength and flavour definitely took time to arrive, but once there was very balanced , wonderfully smooth and extremely enjoyable. The draw wasn’t an issue. The construction was exemplary, as was the condition. Paired with a light spiced rum this was a real treat. My thanks for the exceptional customer service.

In the past Ive had some great MC4s. The past few Ive bought from this site have had a very tight draw. If youre reading this in a few months ignore me but I think the batch currently on sale isnt right.

Montecristo Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single

A delightful cigar, consistent from the first to the last lamented draw. Cedar, leather and pepper, along with a cool sweetness that is totally wonderful on the palate. When In search of the mythical never ending cigar, you’d want it to be like this, never harsh and always communicating it’s provdence from every easy pull. So much so that despite being an infrequent cigar smoker, today I felt the need to smoke another cigar later in the day. Sadly it wasn’t an Edmundo, but a giant slayer in the guise of a Jose Piedra, whilst not as sublime as the Monte, scratched the itch that it had left me with. I’d give the Edmundo a 4.5, it’s not a No2 but it is an undeniably good smoke and one that should be a go to on a warm summers day when relaxation with no hassle is what is required. Some have said that the burn is a little uneaven, yes maybe slightly, but never did it canoe or become something that dominated the smoke. I know that I often say this, but I’d urge you to try this wonderful cigar should you get the chance.

Like James mentioned these can burn unevenly, flavours for my palate came through in the first third as peppery, slight leather note and bitter chocolate, second third sweet creaminess, also found the final third to be quite hot but left longer between singular puffs could still be enjoyed however started to unevenly burn and gave up just after removing the band.

Still new to cigars and for me this was a enjoyable smoke. I would say its more of a smooth to medium smoke. Lasted a good 45-50mins. Really good quality smoke and again I think this is a great one for newbies to try or anyone who likes a medium smoke.

Been looking forward to this one, surprisingly mild and sweet on the tongue unfortunately the leaf started to crack and it ended up looking like it exploded like a firecracker which ruined the smoke. Dont know if it had anything to do with the bluey green spots which i was assured by the Cgars staff were natural. Dont think Id spend the money on this again unfortunately.
