Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 31 May, 2020
Now it’s been a while since I started smoking and have been on the journey with Cgars from day one. On that day I purchased a starter sampler. It had everything you needed and some cigars with the monty no4 one of the figure heads. When I smoked that it had flavour. Nutty, earthy, smooth and noticeably a Montecristo. It started the journey and since then my pallet has developed as has my expectations of a decent smoke. A lot has changed and as money is not flush given the current climate I thought I’d revisit this former love and it’s fair to say I think this is one that hasn’t stood the test of time. I know this is a very popular cigar and so I wonder if that’s effected things. It was also less half the price when I first started so that maybe effecting my judgement but as other reviewers have said, my one didn’t really hit me with anything of note. It’s not unpleasant and should be a go to for beginners but others in the brand simply offer more. It may be a bad batch but I’d pay £3 more and take a Petit Edmundo over this any time.

What a fantastic small cigar; I thoroughly enjoyed this with a late night beer. Montecristo to a tee; very well made, excellent flavours all the way down and a good burn all the way, for a good 30 minutes. Another favourite.

Pre light draw seemed good however once it had been lit didnt seem to draw much smoke at all. Constant battle to keep it lit and a very uneven burn with a poor ash hold. Kept in humidor at RH 70% other cigars smoke well. It may just be a rogue cigar, would try again if gifted but dont think I shall be buying again unfortunately. Better robustos out there.

Meharis by Agio Java Cigar - Pack of 10

Absolutely needs time in the humidor as smoking them dry doesnt offer much, after a little curing the first quarter of this cigar had an amazing strong dark chocolate flavour which worked perfectly with the cedar notes in the aroma, good blend of flavours for the price and very good for quick smokes.

Firstly, I would like ot say thankyou to Mitchell Orchant for recommending this cigar as I found it to be one of the most complex smokes I think I have ever had. I can only describe it as being similar to a fine sauce; after the initial 1/2 inch, which to my ageing palate, was quite spicy and peppery, the rest of the cigar carried a depth of flavour surrounded by other more subtle flavours. It is the first time I have picked up on what others say of coffee and caramel undertones. If you like a fuller but not overpowering flavour throughout your cigar, I would highly recommend this one. Its one of those that I will ensure is always in my humidor from now on.

Montecristo Open Cuban Sampler - 4 Cigars
Date Added: Tuesday 12 May, 2020
Best sampler around. A cigar for every occasion - from big to small. Excellent quality and each one is outstanding - especially the Eagle! Now remember, NOT everyone knows how to look after cigars. I personally feel that everyone at Cgarsltd is very helpful and they always put things right and take very good care of the cigars (for those that know - there is a professional science behind this). So this sampler will taste at its finest if purchased via cgarsltd. They are all experts with customer service too - ask away and see for yourself.
