The Davidoff Escurio Robusto was an enjoyable and distinctive cigar that introduced me to a different side of Davidoff’s portfolio. Using Brazilian and Dominican tobacco, it delivers a flavor profile that feels livelier and more expressive than some of their more traditional blends. On the cold draw, I picked up sweet spice, wood, and a slightly tangy note.
Once lit, the first third brought an interesting mix of creamy smoke, black pepper, and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of molasses or dried fruit. The cigar felt medium-bodied, with excellent balance right from the start. As it progressed, the sweetness and spice played off each other nicely, joined by notes of cocoa and cedar.
The construction was excellent, with a steady burn and effortless draw throughout. In the final third, the cigar picked up a little more intensity, becoming richer and slightly earthier while remaining smooth and controlled.

Much like the Davidoff Yamasa Pirámides, the Robusto has been one of the most impressive cigars I’ve smoked so far, matching the piramides in every sense and flavour. From the moment I picked it up, it felt bold and purposeful. On the cold draw, I noted dark earth, cocoa, and a touch of sweetness.
Once lit, the cigar opened with rich, deep flavors—black pepper, espresso, and mineral-heavy earthiness that immediately set it apart. The Yamasa wrapper brings a distinctive intensity, but it’s beautifully balanced by the Dominican filler. As the cigar progressed, layers of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and subtle sweetness emerged, creating a complex yet controlled experience.
The Robusto shape held the flavors well compared to the piramides, and the construction was flawless: razor-sharp burn, perfect draw, and thick, luxurious smoke. The strength built gradually but never became overwhelming.
This cigar felt confident, powerful, and refined all at once. It’s a standout blend that rewards attention and slow smoking, offering complexity well beyond what I expected.

Davidoff Yamasa Piramides Cigar - 1 Single

The Davidoff Yamasa Pirámides has been one of the most impressive cigars I’ve smoked so far, and it completely changed my perception of what Davidoff is capable of. From the moment I picked it up, it felt bold and purposeful. On the cold draw, I noted dark earth, cocoa, and a touch of sweetness.

Vegas Robaina Unicos Cigar - 1 Single

I joined the Leeds cigar sampling event to try the Robaina. The Vegas Robaina Unicos was a cigar I approached with high expectations, given the heritage and reputation behind the Robaina name. While the construction and presentation were undeniably good, the overall smoking experience didn’t quite resonate with me in the way I hoped. On the cold draw, there were pleasant notes of cedar, hay, and light sweetness.
After lighting, the first third delivered classic Cuban flavors—wood, earth, and mild spice—but they felt somewhat muted. The smoke was smooth, and the draw was very good, but the profile stayed restrained and subtle. Moving into the middle third, I picked up a bit of nuttiness and light floral notes, though the cigar never really opened up or developed much depth.
The burn remained steady, and there were no technical issues, but by the final third, the flavors flattened further, leaning more toward dry wood and earth without much sweetness or complexity to balance it.

The Davidoff The Late Hour felt like a cigar designed for slower, more deliberate smoking, and it immediately stood out from other Davidoff blends I’ve tried. Knowing that the tobacco is aged in Scotch whisky casks added a layer of intrigue before lighting, though the cigar never leans into gimmicks. On the cold draw, I picked up dark cocoa, leather, and a slightly sweet, malty note.
Once lit, the smoke was rich and dense, with flavors of espresso, dark chocolate, and oak dominating the first third. The strength was medium-to-full, but impressively smooth. There was a refined bitterness—like strong black coffee—that stayed balanced rather than sharp. As the cigar progressed, subtle sweetness crept in, along with hints of dried fruit and spice, rounding out the darker profile nicely.
Construction was excellent throughout: an even burn, effortless draw, and consistent smoke output. By the final third, the cigar deepened further, becoming more earthy and leathery while maintaining control and elegance.

This is such a good cigar. Perfect construction only needed one touch with a lighter over 80 minutes smoke. Nice sweet with a lot of smoke. Cherry with dark chocolate and coffee then more coffee but still sweet and little bit creamy finishing with earth flavour. Absolutely beautiful cigar. I recommend it a specially if you in dark flavours. A while back I had joya red but I think this one is much better. Not really strong and very smooth.
