Blackbird Finch Corona Cigar - Box of 28
Date Added: Saturday 27 June, 2026
Tried the samplers of the blackbird range over the last few years and have always been surprised at the quality of the smoke for a new world stick. Sorry if that seems like I'm doing new world down, I'm not, I'm just comparing with my favourite Cubans which new worlds don't compare with imo. Of all the blackbird cigars, the finch stands out as an absolute banker. Good draw, steady flavour throughout which I would put in the r&j arena, medium and smooth. I'll check my finances and look to get a box of these.

Unfortunately the one I tried was incredibly hard to pull, meaning I struggled to get much smoke out at all. It did seem fairly mild smoke but due to the problematic airflow I struggled to be taken by the experience. I will try my other one and if the pull is also bad, maybe attempt some hacks or fixes to experience the smoke as intended. 3 star review because the burn was good and construction seemed good apart from the airflow, which did actually seem to originate due to the head being very tightly packed in order to form the converging point. Maybe I didn't cut enough off to expose less packed leaves, although this does seem to be a not uncommon issue

Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Coronet Cigar - 1 Single

Beginner smoker here, but I was able to thoroughly enjoy this supposedly "meduim/full" coronet. Very well constructed, burns as you'd like with some minor waves (millimetres) but I think this adds to the character, since they seemed to regularly appear and within one more pull correct themselves throughout the smoke. This was, I think, due to the fact that there is a great airflow in the filler/binder meaning you can take relatively small puffs to generate a lot of smoke, which is delicious by the way. My unrefined senses could detect a rich woody flavour, with fertile rainforest soil underneath. I'll definitely be buying more, but maybe try the lancero for a longer experience this time or possibly a larger ring gauge, although possibly this would create too much smoke for me to handle... Recommended even for beginners

Construction is good, draw is good, the burn is good, but the flavor is simply dire. Tastes like you're smoking the butt ends of a pub ash tray. There's no smooth creaminess, no sweetness, and even no peppery kick. Even the smoke looks a bit dirty. It's best use was providing ash for making pipe mud. Please avoid this one, there's far better for the price.

surprised in a positive way. smooth, larger than standard robusto at 55 ring. it’s almost a chubby and at only £13 it wasn’t bad at all. something to smoke casually with your friends when there is no cause for celebration.
