This is a full bodied cigar and one I imagined a typical Cuban cigar would taste. I enjoyed the Cigar and it burned really even, until it went out, in fact it went out twice and from there on in I had to tend to it to make sure it burned evenly. I didnt really mind and it never spoiled the smoke at all. Strong but not over bearing leather taste with a mellow woody finish, it went gradually more peppery towards the end. I loved the sweet taste left on my lips when I licked them between draws. Another great value Cigar.

Bolivar Royal Corona Tubed Cigar - Box of 10
Date Added: Monday 13 August, 2018
BOLIVAR ROYAL CORONA TUBOS BOX CODE LRE JUL 09 - 9 years old at sampling. Please note, bought from a bricks and mortar in Lucerne, an EMS box could potentially be finer. Starts very cool and surprisingly mild but has a wonderful rich aromatic room note. Very buttery, creamy smooth, sweet hay and pleasant vegetal notes. Half way through hits a sweet spot of subtle dried fruit, coffee, milk chocolate, remains creamy smooth. Last third slightly stronger classic medium Cuban aromatic tobacco. Overall, at 9 years this becomes a gorgeous and complex cigar but the trade off is the loss of spiciness and strength.

Bolivar Tubos No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single

Novice smoker (Sampled H.Upmann, Montecristo, RyJ and J.L.P cigars) this one is a marvellous little smoke, you won’t be disappointed. Spicy and zesty with excellent draw and a clean after taste. I can’t delve into all the complex flavours as I’m quite new to Cubans but I found this one very pleasing and typical of the Cubans I tried in Miami. Very authentic, earthy flavour to be expected from this brand. Lasted just shy of 40 mins, with modest toking. Will sample more Bolivar, for sure.

Bolivar Petit Coronas Cigar - 1 Single

Was really enjoying this one, until the final third! The first third is mellow, with a light to medium flavour, which strengthens as it burns into the second third. It’s spicy and oaky, with hints of creaminess, but then it all goes to pot! It had trouble staying lit and burned unevenly in the final third. The taste went south too, with a huge hit within half an inch of the wrapper. I don’t know if I will try another one, as I got this out of a sampler...

I normally smoke cubans but decided to try this, it was a truly magnificent smoke, it feels very powerful and strong between your fingers and burns evenly throughout. This cigar is a good length and has a very dark and mysterious look to it , the draw was even and delightful and surround by the wonderful wrappers. It lasted a whole thirty overs while my son was playing cricket...I wished he did !! I would definitely recommend this cigar as an alternative if there is one to an expensive cuban. I hope the above does not make Mitchell increase the price...Great Cigar.
