Quai d Orsay No. 50 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 30 October, 2025
Classy looking cigar, quite understated, lovely mocha wrapper. Very subtle flavours, slightly peppery on the lips with a sweet, creamy coffee upfront followed by gentle roasted pecan and gentle, aromatic cedar. Overly packed and nearly impossible to draw, needed at least 3 successive and long draws to produce a minimal amount of smoke, fairly uneven burn requiring 2 significant corrections...seems to be getting more regular with Cuban cigars and at Cuban prices it's not really good enough.

BLACK FRIDAY - Drew Estate Blackened M81 Maduro Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 29 October, 2025
So pleased with this! I ordered the Drew Estate Blackened ranger sampler and this was the first one I tried. A birthday treat and smoked in the rain with a glass of Westerhall Plantation rum. It took me 35-40 minutes before I very sadly finished this superb creation. Smooth, smoky, creamy and deeply satisfying. I'm really looking forward to trying the others in the sampler but even in the worst case scenario, I know I can come back to this one. Well done Drew Estate!

Mitchellero Torcedor Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 29 October, 2025
I had high hopes for the Mitchellero Torcedor, thinking it might become my new everyday smoke. I took it out of my cedar humidor about six hours before lighting up and it burned beautifully, lasted the perfect amount of time as advertised and started off really nicely. The first half was smooth, rich, and full of flavour, but by the second half it turned a bit too spicy and peppery for my personal taste. It’s still a very good cigar for the price, and I can see why people enjoy it. I’ve got another one resting in the humidor and plan to try it again soon to see if it was just this particular stick. For now, I’d call it a solid effort, but my favourite from the Mitchellero range is still the Robusto, that one’s tough to beat.

H. Upmann Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 28 October, 2025
Very mild almost no flavour possibly due to extremely tight draw. Rolling the cigar opened up the draw a little but was still tight. Took a lot of touching up to try and keep the cigar burning evenly. I didn’t notice any flavour development from the first third to the end. There was a nice sweetness to the wrapper but for the price it left a lot to be desired and generally dissatisfying. A shame for my first time venturing outside of NW cigars.

Zino Nicaragua Short Torpedo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 28 October, 2025
I had high hopes for this one, but it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. The flavour that did come through was nice enough, smooth and a touch nutty, but overall it just didn’t grab me like I’d expected. Maybe it’s my still developing palate, or maybe I just got a dud, but it didn’t live up to the hype for me. The draw was tight from the start, and even after using a cigar drill it never really opened up properly, which made the whole experience a bit of a struggle. I wouldn’t say it was awful, just disappointing. If someone offered me another, I’d give it a go in case this one was a bad example, but as it stands, I likely wouldn’t buy it again.

Perdomo 10th Anniversary Connecticut Purito Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 27 October, 2025
Perfect daily smoke. Lovely mild cigar for those like myself that are newer to cigars. Well made, felt consistently packed from foot to cap and burned straight as an arrow with no need for touch ups. For a milder cigar I was pleasantly surprised by a noticeable development in flavour around midway through the smoke. Nice quick smoke that lasted around 25-30 minutes. After smoking other similar cigars I can say this punches well above its price point.
