Easy draw, medium to strong flavours of spice, herbs and peanuts. Mild smoke. Lasted well. A good smoke.

Guantanamera Cristales Cigar - 1 Single

Had a couple of these whilst on holiday in Cuba and decided to bring a few back as presents for non-cigar smokers as they cost around £2 each there. The tobacco is not the best but it is at least 100% Cuban, machine rolled so quite loose and inconsistent but relatively even burning if a little quick and stored in unsealed cheap plastic tubes and often not in humidores so often a little dried out. It's a good cheap souvenir cigar for the tourists who otherwise wouldn't bother. If a fiver is your budget then you are better off with a smaller but better quality cigar.

Chinchalero Perla Cigar - 1 Single

At the old price, this was a steal. At the new price, it is still a great value cigar. There is some variation in quality from cigar to cigar, but at this price I guess you have to expect it. I have tried lots of different cigars in the 4 -10 pounds range from this site and I keep coming back to this cheaper version for all round enjoyment and value. This cigar is well wrapped, clean and tasty. It is like a good Southern Rhone Valley wine: it is unlikely to make you want to go and wake up the wife to get her to share in the experience like you would with a good claret, but if you want a midweek evening smoke with a glass of scotch, or want something to help you focus at the poker table, this is the cigar for you. It can taste a little green at times and can burn a little hot, but it is two and a half quid. You want excellence, you pay more. You want a good smoke? Then you could do a lot worse than this.

Trinidad Coloniales Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 22 June, 2010
The cigar looks amazing, with its beautiful dark wrapper, oily sheen and a Trinidad gold banding which is always nice on the eyes! Draw was a little difficult as tobacco was fairly tightly packed, with medium amount of smoke, certainly not as much (with a not as easy draw) as the Robusto T or even the Reyes. Still, the taste was more spicey than the Robusto (though less creamy), and more deep richer than the Reyes. Roasted taste intensified during the second third of the cigar, with hints of sweetness found. Ash has started off uneven, but did level off after an inch, with the ash lasting around1 1/2 inches until falling. Dark grey ash, again not as smooth as the Montecristo No. 2, but smoother than the Robusto T and Reyes, with white star-like nodules present (similar to the Reyes). Apart from the size, which is modest, though not one I would prefer, the taste and look of the cigar was first class. I am very harsh when I score any cigar (remember 4-5 is excellent, 3 is middle of the road, with 1-2 as not so good), but 4/5 is very good. Not bad price for a Cuban Trinidad,

Luis Martinez Tres Petit Corona - 1 Single

Nicely made, good aroma, perfect draw, but too strong for my taste. I expect that those who like a good strong cigar will find this a very enjoyable smoke, at a very reasonable price.

Not as strong as expected, which suits me. Excellent if medium strong and quite nutty is your taste.
