Regius Corona Cigar - 1 Single

If this cigar was a colour it would be beige. I tried the Regis Corona as an alternative to the Inka Blue which I love. On the positive side it was well constructed, burned evenly if a little quickly. However it tasted of nothing of note. Bitter, a little harsh and just bland. I have some more and will revisit and re-review if the others show any improvement. Not a good first impression.

I have just sampled a pre-2008 example. Very good construction, though the cap unravelled. The smooth flavour was medium, and it was a satisfying smoke. A good standby, but I think one can do even better for the price.

Cohiba Lanceros Cigar - 1 Single

I agree with previous criticism of the Lanceros. I bought five well aged examples, gave them a few months in the humidor, then tried one. I lit it and ... nothing happened. The foot burned fine, but no appreciable smoke in the mouth. So, I tried a second: same result. Frustrated, I broke the rest in half and binned them. There are so many excellent vitolas made by Cohiba, I wonder why they persist wth this one. It stands to reason that a long, slim cigar should be perfectly constructed, as a little smoke has to travel a long way to the head. Until these construction issues are addressed by the factory, I won't buy them again.

Excellent tasty cigar, but draw was so tight even when I cut the head twice more,and poked a long match through it!

I had one of these last night, I like the size, and was looking forward as it had mostly shining reviews, but immediately I could feel it had been rolled very tight. I sparked it up and the draw was so tight I could hardly get any smoke from it, I had to suck so hard and the flavour was quite harsh and bitter. Had to put it down half way through. I was really disappointed with this stick actually and was expecting more. Perhaps I just had a bad one...I contacted CGARS and they said they would send out a replacement with my next order - so great service from them as usual, hence the 2 stars. from RJ.
