Mitchellero Torcedor Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 05 October, 2023
Ordered 4 of these to try, on opening the order gave them the smell test and all 4 had a distinct smell of ammonia. I put them in the humidor for a day and thought I would try one, but the ammonia taste was there in the smoke, I had to do a burn purge 4 times to try and burn the ammonia off. It did burn well, nice and even and was not terrible but the ammonia has put me off. I will leave the other 3 for a few months but wont be ordering these again, im surprised nobody else has mentioned this in the reviews. Shame as they are a good price for a 40 min smoke.

Rich, velvety with earthy undertones. A very balanced and pleasant experience; delicate and yet punchy draw with a full bodied and refined character. Complicated flavours that carefully evolve throughout the cigar with a relaxing and distinctcly pleasurable palate. For a relatively inexpensive cigar this was quite a lovely surprise as it felt equally as enjoyable and akin to a Cuban classic such as the Monte Cristo, with all the hallmarks of that same refinery one comes to expect from such a well known brand. There was no bitterness or unpleasant aftertaste. The draw was even and careful with a solid burn and eveness to the smoke. The cigar took around 1 hour to complete (with conversation and wine - and why would you rush such a decadence?) and was fulfilling throughout. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable cigar that still manages to reward with the same fullness and complexity we hope to experience from that moment of self indulgent pleasure. This cigar shall remain on my wishlist.

My Father Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

A pretty midling cigar for me. It was well made, but the draw and flavours were far too mild for my tastes. Another bud light cigar in pilsner clothing which a lot of US-marketed cigars seem to be. It did pick up in the final third to become somewhat of my expectations for the first and second, but sadly it was gone shortly after. Not a bad cigar but dont expect a flavour bomb.

A pleasant surprise, the burning is perfect. At the beginning, during retrohealing, white pepper that gradually recedes. there is enough smoke and the aroma that remains on the palate is wonderful, slightly sweet nutty, with hints of sweet pepper. excellent cigar dear ones.

Its a nice smoke and really worth the 6 pounds. No complaints apart from it seeming a little tight on the draw, but if you poke a hole down the cigar youl have a nicer experience

Mitchellero Corona Cigar - 1 Single

First one wasnt to my liking at all. Not a very pleasant taste and didnt burn particularly well. But as always I buy two of the same cigar and leave one a little longer in my humidor. And would you believe it, it was like smoking an entirely different cigar. A lot smoother to smoke, no harsh taste or after taste and reasonably even burn. So I will buy another couple and store them for a month or so. If I get the same result then Im sure I will have a few of these aging in my humidor.
