La Invicta Nicaraguan Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 13 July, 2018
I don’t have a whole lot to say about this cigar. For the price, I think it’s good. Handmade, good construction, burned evenly with good draw. But the flavours weren’t spectacular. There was the usual nutty flavours along with a hint of caramel, but not a lot else. It reminded me of a big cigarette to be totally honest so, for that reason, I wouldn’t reorder.

I have always regarded La Invicta as a par for the course type cigar; meaning that whilst I enjoy them theyre never going to amaze you but that being said theyll never let you down either. I mostly smoke the Nicaraguan version of their robusto but this is the first time Ive had their Honduran range and any of their Maduros. Straight out of the cello you can see it is well constructed and the wrapper had few flaws and a slightly toothy feel with minimal veins. The pre light was earthy and drew well with the promise of plenty of smoke. This was confirmed upon lighting and the cigar burned evenly with a nice white grey ash that held on quite well. Like most of the Invictas I have smoked it wasnt hugely complex but did have a nice earthy flavour that finishes with a hint of pepper on the retro. As is expected of a decent cigar the flavours did intensify the longer it burned yet it wasnt unpleasant. As you approach the home stretch it does beco
