H. Upmann Majestic Cigar - 1 Single

Overall a 7/10 stick mainly let down by its poor draw, I purchased two of these cigars and after attempting the first one I assumed it was just a plugged cigar but I then realised that it is just a tightly packed cigar. Despite the draw making it a little bit of hard work the flavours were quintessentially Cuban, definitely on the milder side as you would expect from the Upmann portfolio progressing to medium in the final third at which time I encountered strong peppery notes as the draw also loosened up. Not unsmokable just hard work !
An overall decent stick with great flavours and complexity.

Very interesting pre draw, spicy and slightly sweet leather. Light smoke with a strong flavour of leather and a cedar finish. Somewhat wonky burn but no severe canoeing. First half is a little average but the second half builds the flavour up to the last third being very tasty indeed. Paired with Oban 14 (rather sweet slightly spicy whisky) it goes down very nicely. Heres hoping the rest of the range makes its way to the UK soon.

Theres something quite nice about relaxing in the evening and finding something to do which comes naturally and comfortably.
You can walk through the door after a tough day at work in to the warmth of your living room, settle back in to your armchair and locate the switch on the lamp.
Slowly your feet rise up and rest on the footstall as you adjust yourself further in to a position ready to see whats around you. It may be your chosen book of the week, a copy of the Spectator maybe... Or simply that days newspaper.
The dog is running around and the children are loud and in this time, they are not annoying. Nothing is. The only thing between you and the current world is that reading material and what lays in your clean ashtray - already cut and sitting almost as if in a life of its own, patiently.
You look at the band and possibly think of how happy J.F.K was to order his cigars of the same company. Out comes the lighter or Cedar matches (you decide... No hurry). First burn... Second burn... Light! The plumes of cool smoke surround your face. Some have suggested tastes of

I loved this, pre draw was slightly sweet. Burn required a bit of attention, but not to bad. Flavours however were fabulous, sweet leather and woody/cedar notes. A slightly tight draw for me. The final third was a full on flavour fest. This will definitely be in my regular rotation!

Without doubt the worst cigar Ive ever smoked. It was an effort to keep it going, absolutely nothing relaxing or enjoyable about it. Terrible burn, terrible draw, went out without near constant smoking which destroyed the flavours. Gave up just over half way and lit and immeasurably better RyJ Churchill.

An excellent short smoke cigar with plenty of varied, pleasant flavours. Nice aromas and a good balance of strength. All in all, one to be recommended.
