Gurkha Ghost Spook - Short XO Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 12 April, 2021
Back in the day, I had a friendly merchant in The USA who would ship to The UK & they would regularly send free samples, usually of Gurkhas. Of the dozen or so I tried, I didnt find a single one I wanted to smoke again! They all tasted dirty, for the want of a better word. Strong, dusty & rather unpleasant. A decade later I decided to give this little one a try and even though I find pig tail caps really annoying (require both clipping AND punching!) this proved to be one of the most enjoyable sticks I have smoked! Nice white ash that stays together well, not too hot a smoke and a very mild flavour, which was surprising from a Maduro. Just ordered a box as a result.

Gurkha Cellar Reserve 12 Year Old Platinum Solara Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 11 April, 2021
Such a pretty cigar — but that was about it, for me. First two thirds were a big disappointment: burnt, harsh flavours. Final third picked up a little bit, comprising some nice earthy and peppermint notes. Can only assume I had a bit of an off stick.

Gurkha Ghost Gold Exorcist Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 09 April, 2021
Rubbish. Seriously rubbish. Flavours are decent if you can get it to burn properly but the burn is the most uneven on a cigar Ive ever seen. The wrapper started unravelling halfway through and it stopped burning several times. Dont waste your money.

Just finished smoking this. Not a fan. Great construction. Great foot smoke. But lord it tastes of nothing. I donÂ’t know if I got a dud but it has no flavour. Not enjoyable so would not recommend.

Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Year Old Koi Perfecto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 07 February, 2021
So I decided to try out one of my Gurhka Aged cigars. I have the 12, 15 and 18 tucked away in my hum. So I started with my 15 yr old Koi. I noticed that the wrapped was slightly split at the draw end, but wasnt enough to disappoint me. The first part of this amazing, lovely and sweet with a hint of spice. The sweetness continued through, but about midway I got more spice and a lovely leathery hit. And the smoke smell is just divine. But alas just after halfway the wrapper pretty much just sprang off and unraveled itself. Bit of a let down, but probably just a one off. I have another one in a hum, so we shall see if what happens next time. Greatly recommend. Four stars just because the wrapper came off.

Glendronach 15 Year Old - 70cl 46%
Date Added: Monday 09 November, 2020
A stunning whisky......rich, malty with Christmas cake sweetness. The sherry influence is significant but really holds all of the flavours together perfectly. This is a classic Highland dram with all the hallmarks of the genius that is Rachel Barrie (who presided over Ardbeg when Uigeadail when it won Whisky Of The Year)..This has been instantly added to my go to rotation. Buy without fear! You will not be disappointed.
