Gurkha Cellar Reserve 18 Year Old Koi Perfecto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 18 November, 2021
Bit of an uneven burn to begin, maybe the strong wind had a hand in that. Improved halfway, hints of walnut, almond and leather. Fairly full body in the last inch and a half with a hint of spice. 45 mins on a windy afternoon in November, aided with a cigar spear at the nub.

IÂ’m a big fan of Gurkha. IÂ’ve many really good cigars from them and all have been great. This oneÂ… I know Gurkha have a rep got advertising over quality, which is each to their own, personally, I love them. IÂ’ve had two of these in the humidor and I decided to have one yesterday. Draw was awfully tight, no smoke and thatÂ’s that. I know I could say to Cgars and get a replacement, but I should have used the Perfecdraw and sorted the knots, but for some reason I forgot. Had another less than ten mins ago. Same issue, so I use the handy perfecdraw and pulled out a knot that looked longer than the actual cigar. Maybe five inch. The draw and burn and flavour from then was what I expected from a Gurkha. Sweet, bitter dark chocolate and hazel. A creamy white smoke and brilliant burn. IÂ’ve had a lot of GurkhaÂ’s and we all need to remember that these are natural products, so sometimes a knot happens. IÂ’d always advise to get a perfecdraw incase. Would I recommend? Yes. For the most part. IÂ’d say, this isnÂ’t a beginners cigar. Strong, but not too strong for a seasoned smoker.

The first third is tasteless, but great for when you are having a drink and just want to smoke; its well constructed, easy draw with lots of smoke and doesnt wreck your chest. It does tend to go out, but its huge so that just means you can take a break and relight it and it lasts most of the evening. The flavour really changes as it goes down, more than most cigars. The final few drags have a distinct and powerful flavour that reminds me of blue cheese and is literally the tastiest bit of cigar ive ever had. I smoked a few before leaving this review because initially I thought it must have got mouldy in my humidor, but they are all like this (they do benefit from a rest though, even just a few weeks in the humidor makes a difference). If you like to smoke a cigar down to the bitter end when its almost burning your lips like I do then you get plenty of this really tasty bit, and these babies are well made for doing just that as it doesnt seem to burn too hot at the end. By the way the same flavour thing goes for the robustos except you dont get the flavourless bit at the star

Great cigar, and what a monster. Punched cleanly, and lit easily. A great draw with clouds of creamy white smoke, with great flavours. The construction was great and held together untill the very end. I loved it, and I will be getting more

The construction of this cigar is faultless and it does produce a lot of smoke, but for me it didnt deliver enough in the taste area. I much prefer the casa turrent 1901. Just because I dont think this cigar doesnt deliver on taste doesnt mean you wont, the only way to know is to try it and see for yourself, we are all different and part of the great thing about cigar smoking is trying new cigars and finding what you like for yourself not from reading cigar reviews.
