Regius Connecticut Gran Toro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 10 August, 2021
Only bought the one cigar. 58x6.5” Connecticut wrapper. Cigar initially looked good. Before toasting/lighting it was obvious that there were a few cracks and splits near the foot. Parts of the wrapper were cracked along the length of the body. On the whole the build was poor. Upon removing the band some of the wrapper peeled away leaving a fault in the outer construction. The cigar was overly dry and needed to stay in the humidor for quite a while before it was anywhere near close to being ready to smoke. The head of the cigar was brittle and practically disintegrated upon punch cutting. Whilst smoking the filler of the cigar continued to shed tobacco flakes leaving an unpleasant mouth feel. The burn was reasonable until it hit the peeling sections of wrapper. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend based on this cigar alone. Taste wise it was robust and peppery. Sweet aftertaste on the draw however due to the state of the cigar it was unpleasant. Not recommended based on this one cigar. Bearing in mind that I only ordered one cigar it could be that I was unlucky. However as the cigar was

Rattrays Claude Dozorme Explorer Pipe Tamper Knife Tool - Bog Oak
Date Added: Tuesday 10 August, 2021
5 star quality knife. Looks good and feels good but the design is such that it does not make a good pipe knife. They have taken one of their standard designs of knife and rounded off the blade point. A tamper has been added to the end but it is too close to the knife body. This means that the tamper cannot reach far enough into the pipe bowl on most pipes without jamming against the pipe bowl rim. I would recommend it only for larger pipe bowls. Disappointing for the price.

Jose L Piedra Petit Cazadores Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 10 August, 2021
Upon arrival, the cigar was very spongy and seemed to be over humidified. It burned a bit unevenly and needed a few relights. I was unimpressed with the flavour profile and the taste did not develop significantly. The last third, which is my favourite part of a cigar, failed to deliver. Retrohaling left a scratchy feeling at the back of my throat. I did not begin with any expectations, but overall I was left unsatisfied. I did not think it was a very good cigar so I wont be visiting this brand again.

Quorum Shade Grown Robusto Cigar - Bundle of 10
Date Added: Monday 09 August, 2021
I previously reviewed these and was fairly scathing. I stand by my words: if you open these up and crack straight on theyre a bit pants, in my opinion. BUT, after 6 months in the humi theyre now smoking very well. Not exactly Earth shatteringly good, but for the price you really cant complain too much. Ive not needed to pair it with a drink of any sort, such is the mellow and inoffensive flavour. If you want an easy going smoke that takes no effort then give these a bash. Ill be buying more, now I know how to treat them!

Montecristo Petit Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 09 August, 2021
Bought one of these from the Turmeaus shop in Great Yarmouth (that shop is literally the only thing to make a stay at GY tolerable, a haven of sophistication in an otherwise grotty sea of kiss me quick nonsense). Aside from paying considerably more in store than they go for here, this was a very pleasant smoke. Slightly uneven burn that took a little touching up, but still very enjoyable. Ill be adding a box of 10 to my humi to properly evaluate. For science.

La Invicta Honduran Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 09 August, 2021
My first foray into Honduran cigars, and my word what a smoke! For reference, my usual smokes are Quorum shade growns, Monte No. 4s and pretty much anything Fuente (especially on a Friday). Im not going to go mad trying to describe all the flavours: all Ill say is I thoroughly enjoyed this start to finish (and I do mean finish, there must have only been half and inch left when I finally put this away). Smooth as silk to start, but plenty of favour. Even on the back end, as the smoke started to warm up, there was only the slightest hint of bitterness. Enjoyed with HMS Victory navy rum from the IoW Distillery.
