Cohiba Siglo IV Cigar - 1 Single

This was my first experience with a Cohiba and not a bad experience at all. Lovely rich flavours, gorgeous mouthfuls of smoke from a perfect draw.....uneven burn last 3rd, had to correct a couple of times but overall very enjoyable if a tad pricey :-)

It's nice to see such an unusual shape; the standard parejo/figurado shapes are tried and tested, but innovations such as this are rare. The "Chisel" head resembles a flattened figurado and gives some very interesting effects on the smoke as you rotate the cigar when smoking. It alternates from a thin sheet of smoke across your palate, to a tall column of concentrated favour. The decision to include a double helping of full bodied ligero also makes it a blend to be reckoned with: Rich, powerful and spicy. Fantastic honey and wood flavour from the off. Had this with a great glass of valpolicella and an 18 year old Longmorn. The smoke stayed tasty and without bitterness down until the last third. I wouldn't hesitate to order another five!

Sorry that my first review is a bit negative as I find these panatelas harsh and loosely rolled.In their defence they have improved in the humidor after a few days but I wish I had stuck to the far superior La Rica Tubitos,which have dropped in price by TEN POUNDS since my last purchase a month ago.

A good cigar.nice even burn throughout,I did have to blow through a couple of times to keep it alight,but that's probably expected with these big ring sticks.nice taste,the toro is more tastier though.if your going to be watching the world cup get yourself a few of these bad boys in as you will light it at the start of the match and you will be smoking it until the end,a good two hour cigar.
