Independencia 1898 Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 09 March, 2015
Great little cigar, very cool smoke up until the last third. Lit well, burned well, cool with a smooth and creamy taste. A tiny hint of vanilla and cedar (lit with a cedar strip). Got a bit hot in the final third but still a lot better than some cigars I've smoked at four times the price. Definitely worth a try for the price! I will be getting more to smoke in the workshop.

Excellent cigar. Treated myself to this for my birthday, along with hefty serving of vintage port, and would recommend it. For me it seemed like a very smooth smoke, without a harsh edge that even other cigars that I have enjoyed had to a degree. Although this did seem to change into the last third, and I put it out pretty quick, but totally unconcerned by this as I'm fairly sure it had hit the 2hr mark by this point. Totally deserving of a score over 90, but taking into account the price it should hover near 100, if you're looking for a long smoke and are concerned with value I haven't found anything comparable.

Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader Mixture Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)

Promoted to 5 *****: This tobacco has to be one of the finest if not the best tobacco I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. The (soapy taste) is absolutely amazing, any that know about tobacco in general should know that the (soapy taste) is a signature of quality in a superior product. An all day smoke for sure. Definitely has NO1 spot in my rotation (0_-)

"Bombs away Ginger" what can I say, a very nice smooth tasting tobacco, smokes nicely in the bowl, has a wonderful spicy room note, goes well with a cup of Earl Grey or Redbush.

Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 04 March, 2015
Smoked three of these now and they've all been a very pleasant, no-fuss experience. The near-perfumey initial taste post-toasting is unusual, almost carrying sugary notes in the smoke, but it soon settles into a pleasant afternoon smoke with more of a caramel taste alongside the deeper leathery notes. Visibly well built, the ash held for well over an inch, while the burn and draw were both good and even (I did have to wrestle with the burn a little towards the end, but that was partly because I was trying to smoke it down to the cap, such was the enjoyment). It's an uncomplicated smoke, but sometimes that's just what you need, and there's something about a 50+ gauge that just feels right in the mouth and the hand. This is an exceptionally cost-effective way to enjoy the sensation.
