Inka Secret Blend Red Half Corona Cigar - Pack of 4
Date Added: Tuesday 31 October, 2017
Fantastic Cigar, especially for the price, even burn, smooth and creamy through the first and second thirds, light in the first without much smoke, more bodied with more smoke in the second. Ash fell off as I finished each third, however the construction was good enough that had this been enjoyed sat down and not as part of a leasurely stroll through my local Country House gardens I think I'd have been able to keep it together to the end. Will be an accompaniment to every order. Only downside was needing a relight on the final third otherwise would be five star.

Henri Wintermans Half Corona - Pack of 5 cigars

Not a lot in the pre light fragrance. Upon lighting the initial draw was very light and reminded me of a hamlet. Slight sweetness, a bit of a light leathery taste. As the first third continued these tastes got stronger and the sweetness levels reduced. By the end of the first third the sweetness was gone and the taste was slightly bitter. The burn was good and even for the first third. No surprises in the second third: the taste of leathery tobacco continue. The burn remains even and for the size of the cigar the ash hold together well. One thing that I noticed was that there is not a lot of smoke output from this small cigar. Into the final third and this cigar has quite a strong leathery taste, the bitter notes are a bit more prevalent. I decided to end this in the final third, I think I could have gotten another 5-10 minutes from it had I persevered, but there wasn't enough taste to make me want to burn my fingers. Overall this was an OK smoke, the cigar smoking time was exactly 25 minutes for me. It is a bit bland on the flavours, a mild cigar that did get a bit bi

Villiger Export Pressed Maduro Cigar - Pack of 5 (5 cigars)
Date Added: Tuesday 24 October, 2017
Having read the tasting notes on these with promises of coffee, dark chocolate, nuttiness and wood this seemed to be right up my street. Upon opening these were square shaped, machine rolled cigars. A lovely dark wrapper but a bit light on the pre light nose, no particular scent other than just a bit of tobacco, but this wasn't strong. The burn was even and the ash held together well throughout the first third: however I can't comment on the final two thirds as I didn't get that far. This tasted harsh. Sadly I got a bit of earthiness but it was simply harsh tobacco. None of the promised flavours came through and I could feel it affecting my throat after the first third I decided not to persevere. OK, I'm aware that this wasn't ever going to compare to a high priced hand rolled cigar, and if I'm being honest I didn't believe that I would get all of the tastes promised. However I did expect it to be palatable and smokeable, but it wasn't. This was a shame as I wanted to like these, but I simply had no desire to carry on or even try another. I gave the remaining 4 away so there

JANUARY SALE - Antonio Gimenez Chubby Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 21 October, 2017
Just smoked one of these, straight away flavours were great. Sweet, hints of caramel and cocoa and slight pepper bites in the first light. Flavours stayed constant through out. Lasted around 30 mins. The only fault with this is the construction, after the initial lighting the cigar started burning unevenly, to the point where one side was uneven, I had to let it go out, cut of the uneven end and re light it, even then it wasn't helping. Which is why I gave it a lower score.

Quintero Panetela Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 20 October, 2017
This came in a selection of cigars from around the world some months back so has been sleeping in my humidor. I prefer a smoke of around an hour thus favour cigars around the Montecristo size but with the winter months approaching they tend to be a little too long with the last minutes being spent thinking “I’m getting cold now”. I’ve tried smaller, a Maduro but for me it was too small and reminded me of why I gave up smoking cigarettes, well one reason anyway. I found this Quintero to be ideal. It’s substantial enough in size, both length and gauge to sit in between the two. Not dissimilar in taste to a Montecristo in my view, medium strength. Clipped well and the ash formed a good solid inch before dropping. Even burn and relaxed draw. I spun this out for a good forty five minutes in the garage with a beer whilst admiring the motorbikes. This could have been shortened to thirty minutes if you so desired. Overall rating is very pleasant and one I’d be happy to stock in my humidor.
