JANUARY SALE - Alec Bradley Tempus Genesis Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 05 November, 2018
Mostly positive feelings about this one. First off it looks like a beautiful cigar. Beautiful banding and the construction, colour, texture and smell are all very alluring. Lovely dark brown wrapper rolled perfectly (no seams) as well as being nicely toothy. Taste wise, the first quarter was very bitter. I quite like some bitterness occasionally for a bit of kick but this was a bit overwhelming. However, this happens with nearly any brand of cigar and so its to be expected from time to time. After the first quarter the flavour mellowed out to some nice strong oaky notes with a bit of burnt toffee-like sweetness. The ash held very well and the burn was ok if a little off every now and again. It did go out twice which I wasnt pleased about but luckily this one is fine with being relit. In conclusion, I think the price is a bit high. Id put this in the same class as the Luis Martinez ashcroft corona in terms of quality. Well worth a shout!

Romeo y Julieta No. 3 Tubed Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 03 November, 2018
Ive smoked many of these sticks and they have never disappointed. Sometimes the draw is a touch tight but this loosens up after an inch or so. I get rich tobacco and earthy flavours with an underlying and very pleasant cocoa flavour throughout (although this dies down for the final third). Excellent taste and consistency.

Montecristo Petit Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single

A lovely little cigar. Nit too strong but full of flavour. Burn was a little off to begin but fine after and inch with a touch up. Goes extremely well with a strong black Americano or espresso.

Gurkha Ghost Shadow - Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Had to baby this one for the first 25mins as it was over packed and didn’t want to burn, it got very mushy, hardly got any flavour or smoke out of it, but when I did there were some lovely chocolate notes, I had to touch up the burn as this went very wonky and started to canoe, the last two and a half inches got very hot and bitter, this was not a humidification problem on my part as all my other cigars smoke beautifully, the good points are it has an oily wrapper and if it had burned, would of gave off some really nice flavour, it’s a shame, think I just got a dud one here, might try this one again, maybe..!

Montecristo Open Master Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 31 October, 2018
It looked good enough, well made and smelt pretty good. The first third was less smokey than I would have liked but drew well. Predominantly woody notes with a very slight peppery taste. Second third had much better smoke but still oak and cedar notes came through. The final third had slightly more pepper but the woody notes remain the main feature of this cigar. The burn was very uneven which I was a bit disappointed with, burning a V down one side until the final third where it side burned but the ash held up nicely. Very one dimensional but not an effort to smoke. I wouldnt buy a box but one or two in the humidor wouldnt go amiss. Rather light for a Montecristo but I guess that was the idea with this run. I chose to punch mine, I believe a V cut would have been a better choice. Not a bad cigar, but not a great cigar. One for the Golf course. Lasted a good 45-50mins. Worth a try!
