Regius Petit Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 30 October, 2015
This cigar left me feeling puzzled and disappointed. After reading the favourable reviews here I was quite optimistic. Not sure what went wrong but the cigar tasted pretty much like a big cigarette. Lasted around 50 minutes. The draw was near perfect but with a normal draw I would get hardly any smoke... Had to draw quite hard to get decent smoke and it just tasted of smoke. Maybe I got a bad one but I won't be ordering again to find out. Reminded me a lot of the Quorum brand but didn't taste as strong. Not exactly a compliment.

I ordered two of these and smoked them in two very different circumstances. The first was within a week of purchase on an evening dog walk. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. With nothing more than a bitter smoke which tasted like the first ever cigarette I smoked behind the bike shed at school. It stuck at the back of the throat and tasted like the smell of a pub the morning after the night before (pre-smoking ban)! After it went out the second time at about 1/4 left, I binned it. I put the second in the humidor and was ready to leave it there forever. Until one sunny evening, around 3 months later, with a whiskey old fashioned at my side, I decided to take a chance. After all, I had an Upman Coronas Junior as a back up. Pre-light was uneventful and I was ready for more bitterness when lit, but was pleasantly surprised. My first hit was sweet and mellow, completely the opposite to the first. It burnt quickly but evenly, lasting a good 40 minutes. The taste remained sweet throughout the whole smoke, with introductions of walnut and woodsmoke it was very plea

A great light smoke with very little after taste. Smooth and even burn ideal for the first timer.

Romeo y Julieta Exhibition No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single

Purchased two of these one for a friend and one for myself as we both enjoy the romeo no2s. Took it on holiday with me and saved it till the last evening as a holiday treat. I had smoked a inka secret blend rojo red tres petit corona a few evenings before and was surprised by how tasty it was, especially as it was a cheap smoke. The same can not be said for this. It was not a bad smoke but by no means a good smoke. The best i can say is that it past 45 mins or so inoffensivley but for me it was quite bland and lacked any real flavour.

Rafael Gonzalez Perlas Cigar - 1 Single

Perfect draw, burn and construction. Lasted a full 45 minutes. Wonderful flavours all the way down. Slight nicotine "hit," at the end but that was probably my fault for smoking it almost until it burnt my fingers. Didn't want to put this one down.

Regius Petit Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

I have and typically smoke a wide range of Cuban cigars. however this is somewhat of a strain on the back pocket!. Been looking for a "regular" smoke for some time i bought two of these based on reviews in a number of places. On balance i think they are excellent and something i will buy regularly and for all intense purposes hold a number of qualities you can relay to a cuban. I typically smoke medium to light cubans, so ranging from sweet to spicy with maduro wrappers etc and found this petit rebusto an excellent deep flavourful smoke over each third. the second cigar paired with a great bottle of red worked well. I would recommend to those who appreciate the qualities of a cuban but on balance need to address their spend....and wife!
