Partagas Shorts Cigar - 1 Single
by Martin
I got this as part of a sampler and had before, partagas are seen as quite strong but I find the short a good compromise between strength and taste
It lit well ashed superbly with no touching up required a lovely Cuban twang taste that stayed in the mouth long after smoking but did not mind as very pleasant and not harsh

Nubbed this one and wow what a feeling it left
Perfect construction, sublime flavour with plumes of smoke, absolutely fantastic stick and is up there with some of the best Cubans I’ve tried. The Cuban situation has led to me trying some more new world cigars than I usually would but boy has it opened my mind to the vast catalogue that is on offer
Plasencia are a top quality brand and one that every cigar smoker should try, even the most resolute Cuban- supremacist can’t deny this is a belter of a stick

I feel I needed to submit another review after my second attempt. This time I let the disc sit for nearly 2 hours and crumbled it a lot more finely this time, and will have to say it was far more impressive. Again, a mellow, refreshing, zesty smoke, with a very light spice kick. The room note is still surprisingly aromatic, and when it stays lit, it is a very nice smoke indeed. Definitely got fruity notes from this, and oftentimes reminded me of incense sticks, but the good kind! I'll recommend this, with the caveat to prepare it more carefully than other blends that can be smoked right out the tin.

I bought this as a sample, its a full bodied smoke, i got slight hints of sweetness, this tobacco is like an old fashioned flake, very enjoyable and i will be buying this again.

This is a perfect everyday smoke which doesn't break the bank, although there is less development than I would like. You get the same quality of construction you would expect with any Perdomo stick, but in an approachable size. I keep the humidity stocked with these for beginners.

I let this dry for an hour before packing it, and admittedly I am very new to pipes but good grief, this tobacco refused to burn! The embers went out after 2 puffs! I have a small 20mm by 20mm pipe and this lasted me 45 mins but 30 of that was spent with half a box of matches, then half a lighter's worth of fuel. I got halfway and just gave up. The thing is, the flavour was light, fresh, peppery, with a pleasant room note and very little tongue bite despite all the hard puffing I out it through to keep it lit. If it stayed lit I'd say it was incredibly enjoyable, but instead I found it frustrating. Will dry it longer and crumble it even more the next time...
