With a straight cut and toasting the foot, the first taste to hit me was a pleasant tobacco and black coffee with no sweetness.
The burn was even and held the ash very well and just the smell of it was nice and not acrid like some.
The second third was very similar to the first 3rd but maybe a little smoother than the 1st 3rd.
Over 30 minutes in and getting closer to the band the flavours stayed the same which was enjoyable.
Smoked this up to within a few mm of the band and that's when the band was removed with no issues whatsoever which proves the great construction of this cigar
Final 3rd and the only difference I noted was a very small amount of pepperiness added to the enjoyable flavour.
At no time did this get hot even as I smoked it right up to the nub as now it was getting hard to hold.
Only once did this need to be relit and that was because of a phone call I took, and in total this cigar lasted me 1hr and 5 mins at my leisurely pace.
This is a no nonsense must have cigar in anyone's humidor.

What a cigar! Flavour notes were fantastic, burn was excellent. Paired with Four Roses bourbon.

I actually left the last review in August, but this cigar is so good I just had to review again. After smoking a few more of these since August (last one on my birthday this week), I have fallen in love with this Oliva V Lancero even more. I would say possibly my favourite cigar to date, and I have smoked over 100 brands / variations of cigars. This is right up there with Padron 1964 Aniversary and La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amore for the best dark coco notes, spice and salty earth. The only thing I would say is due to the thin ring gauge these are not suitable for outdoors unless there is zero wind. They also taste even better with a few months of ageing in the humidor. Amazing cigar!

Not bad, on light up it was definitely a note of cedar 1 third into second was still cedar pepper comes through mid way which was really nice last third was really nice came to life well. The only downside was bad burn, I was constantly topping up the worst side burn ever. But all in all not bad. 👌👌👌

There?s a saying amongst aficionados, which is Oliva rarely makes a bad cigar.
As a huge fan of their Serie V Melanios, I was recommended this Seleccion Orchant in their St James store and it did not disappoint.
Slightly on the full bodied side, but packs one heck of a punch in flavours and smoke creaminess.
Looking to order my next one soon.
