Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - Pack of 5
Date Added: Monday 09 February, 2026
These were my first long-filler Cubans and proved to be a very smooth, approachable smoke. Flavour-wise they delivered light cocoa and coffee notes without ever becoming overpowering. Construction was generally very good. One cigar did show a small wrapper defect, though it didn’t affect performance, and the remaining four were free from any issues. Internally the construction was solid across the board, with no burn problems throughout the smoke. The draw was perhaps very slightly on the tight side, but still comfortable and consistent. Depending on smoking pace, each cigar lasted around 40–60 minutes, making them an easy, enjoyable smoke rather than a time commitment.

Mitchellero Double Up Sampler - 6 Cigars
Date Added: Saturday 07 February, 2026
I picked these up because they were a good deal per stick, and I like keeping a range of sizes in my humidor. I don’t always have an hour to spare, so the smaller formats are ideal. As with most cigars, the longer sizes deliver more flavour, and these sticks tend to bring out creamy hazelnut notes in the final 3rd that I find very enjoyable. Construction is generally good and consistent. Occasionally there’s a minor burn issue that needs a quick touch-up, but for the most part they perform well. The final third can become slightly spongy, though it’s nowhere near as bad as with some other cigars I’ve had — and it’s entirely possible I was smoking a bit too quickly.

My Father Blue Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 31 January, 2026
I would say this was my first proper cigar. I’ve smoked cigars before but always after too many drinks and always with no knowledge of what I’m smoking. This cigar I smoked in the late afternoon on a driech Scottish day. Paired with a glass of Leffe Blonde and a dram of 14 yr old Jura. On the dry inhale it had a woodland autumnal taste, perhaps a bit of old leather bound books. The first third was mellow, milk chocolate, flat white coffee. I loved it. The whisky tasted better, smoother, the sweetness of the bourbon cask really coming through. The second and final thirds progressed through a deeper coffee and darker chocolate flavour but never too bitter. I think the Leffe and Jura helped here. The retrohales were warm gentle spice throughout. It was marvellous, I'm going to buy another. I’ve not smoked anything to compare it to but that’s a high bar. No issues with how it burned or smoked. Thank you to My Father and the people who made this cigar. What a great introduction to cigar smoking.

Montecristo No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 23 January, 2026
This is a very good cigar, very smooth with nearly perfect construction. Draw was a bit tight. It has very nice flavours cedar, almonds, sweet cream and a bit of salt. It then gets more earthy with cacao to finish sweet. It's quite strong. I really liked it the only downside to it is the price way to expensive. I rate it 9/10. But I also had cheaper and as good cigars

Matilde Quadrata Torpedo Cigar - 1 Single (Discontinued)
Date Added: Wednesday 14 January, 2026
I knew as soon as I got this out the humidor I was in trouble. Never felt a cigar so much like a sponge! Lit it up and within about 5 draws it started to tunnel. I decided to cut a few inches off the foot of the cigar and light it again and within a few minutes it started to tunnel again put it straight in the ashtray. First badly constructed cigar I've had in about 5 years so my luck had to run out sometime! Hopefully the robusto I got in the sampler performs better.
