Absolute joy... easy and simple, nice for an after-work drink, and has nice notes of coffee and spice

Well this has sat in my humidor for over 3 months. The sun is out and I thought why not enjoy a Cuban today. Well worth the wait, I like to let the Cubans sit a little longer in my humidor, just personal preference. Very nice flavours, nothing harsh, good amount of smoke. Even burn until just before the band so a little touch up sorted that. I like to enjoy a Cuban every now and again and I would smoke cigars in and around the £10 range once or twice through the week. You really can notice the difference, dont get me wrong some of those cheaper cigars are better than other Cubans i have had. But I do like a nice H upmann once in a while. If you dont treat yourself who will. Definitely worth having a few in your humidor.

H. Upmann No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single

I recently revisited this cigar only because on a recent trip to Italy I managed to get my hands on two boxes. These cigars have been quite hard to find in recent times, probably due to being No. 1 on CA’s Top 25 list 2022. After six weeks rest I smoked one of the cigars Ive just bought box date FEB 2022 against some I’ve been aging for a while box date MAR 2013 (I only have a handful left) unsurprisingly there quite different experiences, however the similarities are strong, up to a point! Both cigars started very well with a sweet almost meaty flavour, strangely the aged cigar had a much more oily feel and appearance to it, with the youthful one a dry appearance in comparison. As with most Cuban cigars, there’s a hint of herbaceous grassiness and mild spice, turning to woodiness in the second third, these are by no means a strong cigar, but there are enough transitions to keep you interested. Both cigars produced voluminous smoke with a very slight blue hue. The veteran cigar did burn better, the youngster did require the odd correction to keep an even burn. It was in t

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial Cigar - 1 Single

Looks like I also got a dud. This was the genuinely the worst cigar Ive had and proved un-smokeable. It had a strange mix of consistencies on touch before lifting. Once lit, it canoed badly, with the ash inside looking pitted and abnormal. The draw was next to impossible. The taste was terrible and I wasnt too upset when it went out for the second time in five minutes. I disassembled it and found the binder covered with greenish spots - nasty. I have to assume this had some diseased leaf, but I wont be rushing back to try another. If I could feel it wasnt right before lighting, so should the maker.

I must have. This is my go to cigar for sharing with first timers. It has the quality and depth of flavour of a montecristo no4, but a milder strength. Even burn to the end and balanced draw also. Nursing it with a glass of wine, I’ve managed to make it last 45min.
