Drew Estate Acid Blondie Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 24 July, 2020
I’ve read the reviews about this cigar and couldn’t wait to try it. I must concur with others, it was very enjoyable. Smooth with sweet, creamy smoke. Medium in strength. Lasts for an hour. It has a sweet tasting crown. Definitely worth a 4 out 5. Not an every day smoke but definitely one for occasional change.

I should first state that I recieved this as a substitution for another cigar I ordered- this isnt a complaint about that by any means; I really cant fault CGars ltds excellent service. I know that a lot of people like these, but my own experience of this stick wasnt a good one. Your mileage may vary, of course, but these are my thoughts: First of all, it smells (to me at least) as if its been marinated in aftershave-though not too strongly; in fact I found the smell quite pleasant and was looking forward to trying it. When I came to smoke it, however, I was put off almost instantly. The wrapper has a sickly artificially sweet taste to it, and the taste of the cigar itself was a very strong sandlewood- one that I really felt overpowered any subtleties that the tobacco blend itself might have had.

I personally don’t get it. I smoke cigars because I love how the great ones tell a story from one third to the next, how you can find a stare of sheer bliss and relaxation whilst smoking. How they can give you the same appreciation of a great meal at a top restaurant or an amazing scotch. I bought my dad a bottle of 1963 fonseca vintage port for his birthday about 10 years ago. He wanted to wait for an occasion when my brother was home to drink it. So that Christmas he opened and decanted it and we all had a glass. His wife went to the kitchen and put effing lemonade in it. That is what the acid cigars are. You cannot judge the tobacco or flavour changes, retrohaling is like snorting wash powder and they give me heartburn too. If they were cheap it would be one thing, but the point of fine cigars is the tobacco, if you are going to mask those flavours it needs to enhance the experience. I cannot see how these cigars are enhanced by putting powders in them. I got 5 different acid cigars. I didn’t enjoy any of them

1. Appearance & Construction. This cigar looks and feels amazing. Has decent weight to it. Firm to touch, in perfect condition. Wrapper is really smooth. Cigar is filled to perfection. The look of the cigar coupled with the label looked really elegant and sophisticated. 15/15. 2. Flavor & Aroma. From the outset before even lighting the cigar there is a strong earthy smell but nice not overwhelming. Consistent smoke throughout and thoroughly enjoyable. All of the 3rds of the cigar tasted the same and didnt get bitter. Final 3rd got a tiny bit spicy. There was a strong earthy taste, bit leathery and a hint of almond. Smoke was cool and not warm, felt creamy. Do feel like something is missing and flavor seemed incomplete, but still a beautiful cigar to smoke. 23/25. 3. Smoking characteristics. From the outset everything came at ease with this cigar. From cutting to lighting it was a pleasure. The draw was perfect and at no point was I struggling. The burn was perfect and only at one point near the bottom of the 2nd 3rd I had to retouch it ever so slightly. This cig

Wow, what a strong little cigar this was. The buzz was incredible. I was very, very pleasantly light headed for about 2 hours after smoking this. A very strong taste but not really that pleasant. It left a taste in my mouth that lasted all night and into the next morning. Would recommend if you just want a cheap head buzz.

Not a bad little cigar. Lovely shape, burnt evenly and got about 40 minutes of smoke time. Started off smooth, then as it got fever down, I got the taste of spice. Overall, not a bad little cigar.
