Davidoff 702 Series Aniversario Short Perfecto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 29 December, 2024
Good flavoured medium strength cigar, fairly well built but had to relight a couple of times in the first third as you need to puff frequently. Lots of creamy smoke per puff makes this a satisfying smoke for anyone as there is not much spice all the way through. I took my time with this cigar taking me 70 minutes to finish it all the way to the nub. Most enjoyable smoke.

Tried one of these this evening as a Christmas Eve treat. It had a very strong flavour of artificial sweetener, and unfortunately I did not taste anything else. The burn was a little uneven but not too bad. The draw was very loose, but again it could have been worse by being too tight. It's construction was superb, very well made. So just disappointing that I got absolutely no flavours from it until the last 5 puffs where I got a tiny hint of spice.

What a lovely little 10 - 15 minute smoke this was. The amount of smoke from this fella puts to shame some bigger cigars I have recently smoked. I was surprised with this cigar and will surely get more for those times you only have a few spare minutes.

I'm easing my way back into cigars after a on/off 10 year hiatus. I don't smoke anymore so they sort of fell to the wayside and bar a few sticks in holiday over the years I've not really indulged. Since the price of Cubans has gone up quite a lot in the last 10 years I decided to dip my toe in the 'New World' arena of smokes. This cigar was my first try and I was very pleasantly surprised. First off, clearly been stored perfectly. It was springy yet firm to the touch and smelt great. On first light it was quite bitter and I could tell that there was an underlying flavour there but the bitterness was rather over powering. However, after about 5 mins the cigar completely changed and became almost toffee/caramel tasting and really got better the further down I smoked it. The last third was powerful and rich, very woody with hints of earth and tasted like I was smoking nature, which was incredible. I have another one with the darker wrapper which I'll have at a party next week. I only hope it is as good.

All I can say is that I must of got a bad one. On the cold draw it was very tight. After correctly toasting the foot and with it being in my humidor for a couple of weeks at 69Rh, it was nearly impossible to draw. Full flavoured and medium to full in strength but I persisted with it for 15 minutes it was nearly impossible to draw so I cut of the lit end about an inch and from both ends used my perfect draw multiple times. One time as I removed the perfect draw it pulled out a very long thick tobacco leaf vein of which I had never seen before. I persisted with the smoke and the pull was slightly better but still difficult to say the least. It was only after I removed the band did it start to burn evenly and the draw became how it should of been from the start. It was when I was encroaching the nub did this cigar become enjoyable, so yes I was unlucky to get such a bad one.
