Cuaba Divinos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 22 August, 2019
My first impression on looking at this was , well thats unusual ! Compared to say a Montecristo #5 ( my default smoke) I thought it would be a really quick smoke given its diminutive size but was really surprised. The initial burn wasnt linear following I think the the wrapper torpedo shape but then despite this , it settled down, didnt burn too quickly and held its draw evenly, in fact better than the MC which occasionally I find hard work. I suspect the construction is probably firmer and therefore more consistent but time will tell. Im not great on describing flavours but I do like a creamier short smoke and this reminded me a bit of some smaller grand cru Davidoffs Ive had in the past in that respect. This is a lovely short smoke, exceeded expectations and something I will go back to.

Caldwell Eastern Standard Euro Express Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 15 August, 2019
From mobile (apologies for any spelling/formatting errors): Smoking the cigar at the moment, I was about to post a ‘disappointed’ review. White pepper and little else to begin with. I also had to make quite a deep cut to get a decent draw . . . then . . . the middle third: the creaminess starts to come through: the burn perfect. Still the pepper, but calmed down by the creamy, faint vanilla sweetness. Paired with a Shackleton as an experiment but I think it would go better with a nice rum. Down to the last third, the draw is still firm, but not tight, a little leather coming through, the burn still perfect. I had wondered if the Caldwell line was partly hype, but this cigar (the lower end of their pricing) is at least good enough to make me want to work my way up. The build is excellent, the draw so-so (if like me you like lots of smoke) and the true flavour takes a wee while to come through, but this is definitely proof that the Caldwell line isn’t just all hype. I’ll definitely be buying another to judge consistency, at the very least. Last third: now more

Camacho Connecticut Machitos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 15 August, 2019
Bought as a Camacho sampler pack. First impressions, a tidy compact, well made panatella. Punched it and had a pleasant 15-20 mins in the garden. Not much complexity in the flavour, but never the less it was a fairly pleasant experience, maybe a little on the bolder side of mild. It stayed lit, burned evenly so I look forward to trying the other two in the sampler pack, I wouldnt be dissapointed if they were both as good as this.
