Bolivar Petit Coronas Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 29 September, 2023
By far the best Cuban Ive had in a long time. The draw was perfect and the taste a very pleasant medium/cream affair. This was the first Bolivar Ive tried and it far exceeds other Cubans Ive had recently. Ill definitely be ordering more and exploring the full range. Bolivar may now just be my Cuban brand.

Brick House Double Connecticut Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Alas I messed up the initial lighting and subsequently struggled with a lopsided burn throughout, but incompetence notwithstanding IÂ’ve had more satisfying connecticuts for less money. Perhaps the next time IÂ’m in the US IÂ’ll try some more Brick Houses, but at this price level I was a little underwhelmed and donÂ’t feel much inclined to buy another.

Brick House Maduro Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Really enjoyed this. Full, strong flavour from start to finish with a really decent construction. Loads of smoke and a near perfect burn. If you like a strong cigar, you cannot go wrong here at this price point. I picked up earthy and peppery tastes throughout but it wasnt too woody. For me it was spot on and remained consistent from start to finish. I wouldnt hesitate to have a few more of these in the humidor, Im very impressed.

This is one of my go to cigars for quality and reliability. Nice size, smokes lovely with a nice minty/menthol taste, and woody notes. 5*

Brick House Double Connecticut Corona Larga Cigar - 1 Single

This is a very good quality and very good value cigar. It is a smooth and balanced cigar that lacks the last bit of complexity. I am afraid that I am mostly using my review as a rant around the notion that “beginners” need a light cigar and then more sophisticated, more experienced smokers want something bigger, richer, stronger bla bla bla. This is utterly ludicrous. Implicit in this is the notion that some big greasy dark cigar is more “advanced” or sophisticated or grown up than a Quai d’Orsay. Or by an analogy to wine, if you like a delicate Grand Cru Burgundy you are less advanced or sophisticated than someone who likes a Barossa Valley Shiraz. Rant over.
