Vegas Robaina Unicos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 08 January, 2026
I joined the Leeds cigar sampling event to try the Robaina. The Vegas Robaina Unicos was a cigar I approached with high expectations, given the heritage and reputation behind the Robaina name. While the construction and presentation were undeniably good, the overall smoking experience didn’t quite resonate with me in the way I hoped. On the cold draw, there were pleasant notes of cedar, hay, and light sweetness. After lighting, the first third delivered classic Cuban flavors—wood, earth, and mild spice—but they felt somewhat muted. The smoke was smooth, and the draw was very good, but the profile stayed restrained and subtle. Moving into the middle third, I picked up a bit of nuttiness and light floral notes, though the cigar never really opened up or developed much depth. The burn remained steady, and there were no technical issues, but by the final third, the flavors flattened further, leaning more toward dry wood and earth without much sweetness or complexity to balance it. While I can appreciate the craftsmanship and tradition behind this cigar, it felt underwhelming com

Villiger Export Pressed Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 21 December, 2025
The Villiger Export Pressed Maduro is a cigar that makes an immediate impression before you even light it. The first thing you’ll notice is its distinct square-pressed shape. Unlike your typical round parejo, this box-press gives it a modern, architectural feel that sits comfortably in the hand and won't roll off the table. Upon lighting, the smoke profile is rich and earthy. While many smaller cigars can be mild, this Maduro is deceptively powerful. As noted during the session, the strength is a bit on the stronger side, leaning toward a medium-to-full body. It delivers deep notes of roasted coffee, and a hint of spice on the finish.

My go to smoke if I only have a little time available. Well constructed and a mild creamy smoke. Good even burn. Nice flavours and good cigar for the price.

VegaFina Nicaragua Robusto Tubed Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 20 September, 2025
Having previously enjoyed the VegaFina Classic Corona, I was eager to try their Nicaraguan robusto. The vibrant, eye-catching orange packaging immediately stood out, and the pre-light aroma suggested a promising smoke. The cigar felt soft in the hand — at first, I took this as a good sign of proper storage, but I quickly discovered it was instead due to a loose construction. After cutting off the cap I was surprised by the lack of resistance in the draw. Even though I had removed my usual amount, the airflow was far too open, leaving me doubtful from the start. Whilst this did help tame the strength of the Nicaraguan tobacco, it came at the cost of body and character. More often than not, I found myself double or even triple-puffing just to coax out any real flavour. The construction flaws became even more apparent as the session went on. The burn line struggled to stay even, despite a careful toast with a jet lighter. Multiple touch-ups were needed, and at one point I had to perform a full re-light. Although there were some positive elements, this is the only cigar I’ve given

Vegueros Entretiempos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 19 September, 2025
I let this sit in the humidor for nearly 2 months and dry boxed it for 24 hours before enjoying with a Friday night rum. This was an enjoyable smoke but I felt the flavours were fairly muted for the most part. It was quite spicy in the first third developing into a smooth and feint walnut in the second. The final third was the star of the show with some strong florals and a creamy walnut after taste.

Not a highly well known brand. But definitely one to have in your humidor. Personally I think it could have done with a few more months in the humidor. Started off not great ( not a bad drew ) but Started to really come into its own in the last third and got quite strong.
