Samuel Gawith Genuine English Snuff 10g - Black Arabica (Formerly Coffee)
Date Added: Monday 24 August, 2026
A decent snuff with a definite ground coffee note. Though relatively dry, this is a course grind and a little unpleasant unless you get it just right. Probably not for beginners like me. Also the plastic tap tins are awful but that's not to be considered for the score as you could transfer to a tin easily. Does what it says, but not one I use often or would return to.

Savinelli Leonardo Limited Edition Pipe Tobacco - 10g Sample
Date Added: Monday 17 August, 2026
Smell when dry reminds me of a chocolate pudding doused in booze. Room note very much reminded me of a pleasant incense Stick, and flavours were fruity. Very pleasant as my 3rd ever pipe bowl and definitely on the shortlist for a tin in the future.

Samuel Gawith 1792 Dark Flake Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)
Date Added: Thursday 23 July, 2026
This is a great tobacco. Strong and very slow burning. The Tonquin just gives this a nice edge. I left the flakes to dry out on a plate for a few hours before breaking them up and storing in the jar. Experiment for yourself. A really nice smoke. I love strong tobacco. You shouldn’t be afraid of this. It is quite friendly, honest. Just take your time with it ( which you should do anyway) it will reward you. It is very Zen like. I use to alternate this with HH Bold Kentucky, which sadly is no longer available. The only tobacco to top this , for me is Black Twist.

Samuel Gawith 1792 Dark Flake Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)

A strong full peaty flavor capable of producing thick billowing smoke and a good amount of head spinning nic. I found it best to smoke a bit wetter than you'd think as the sweeter bean is lost if too dry. A few relights needed but well worth the effort. On my list to buy in bulk for when I fancy something a bit more filling. The room note is very pleasant to me, but probably not anyone nearby.

Savinelli Aroma Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin
Date Added: Friday 10 July, 2026
Smells delicious out the tin. Vanilla, cheesecake, creamy goodness. However, smoke is a bit artificial tasting. Its light and smooth. maybe too light. The flavour has an artificial tone that adds some harshness. I prefer connoisseur's choice. Very similar, bit more boozy and a bit less artificial tasting. Although both tobaccos have left me looking for something still creamy but more natural, and stronger.
