Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Broadleaf Cigar - Tin of 5
Date Added: Monday 29 July, 2013
I have been sampling quite a few different cigars recently and this was my first Rocky Patel cigar. I have to say this has been my favourite up to now. Taking it from the cellophane, the construction was very nice. The flavour was a little sweet but with lovely thick smoke. The draw was perfect. I will be ordering more of these for sure!!!

Im a newbie to smoking cigars but this is the best ive tried yet by a long long way.

Had one of these last week, was a good proper Cuban but lacked a bit of punch. Had a good solid draw until I hit the last 2 inches when the draw became tight, would usually enjoy the last bit of a cigar the best but really didn't with this one. Have two more of them to try so hopefully I just got a bad one.

I received one of these as a gift and was pretty disappointed. I was keen to try some non-Cubans and this seemed to fit the bill. Construction was pretty average with a fairly loose draw. Flavour was okay, a bit bland but not offensive. It took a lot of maintenance to keep it going with re-lighting required if you did not keep drawing very quickly. In summary, a distinctly below average smoke which I would not purchase again.

Though a relative noob, I've tried my fair share of both Cuban & non-Cuban offerings and I have to say this is right up there with the nicest I have had. The construction is first class - on a par with a more expensive Cuban and the wrapper adds to the classy, expensive feel (if that's your thing). As per the description the taste is quite spicy, but never over-powering, leaving a lasting finish. As others have already said it is difficult to put this cigar down and I too continued to smoke well after the band, so tasty is this cigar! Overall a very good cigar that I would heartily recommend. Will definitely to trying more Rocky Patel's in the future, though more likely it will be a box of 10 of these...

No complaints on this stick. RJ are one of my favourite Cubans totally consistent, great draw lovely creamy flavours, slight woody tastes on the second third, great after dinner stick. I sat in the garden with my kindle and a rum, only complaint was the weather. 5/5.
