Nostrano del Brenta Campesano Cigar - Pack of 2
Date Added: Sunday 28 June, 2020
After recently being very impressed by the Clandestino cigar by Nostrano del Brenta I was keen to see how the smaller Campesano compares. I rather enjoy their obstinately rustic, slightly crooked appearance. They are perhaps not so tightly rolled as a Toscano or other Italian cigar of a similar size and maybe this helps them have an easier draw and shorter smoking time. They are reasonably full flavoured without being too strong and show no sign of disintegration when gripped between the teeth whilst you reload the repeater to finish off those banditos, stoke the bbq or whatever else you may be doing at the time. They burned evenly with a nice solid ash stack. I think they offer quite good value as a shorter smoke and I will most likely buy again.

This cigar came to me feeling a bit dry, I discarded its little box and put it to rest in the humidor for month by which time it was looking and smelling wonderful. Compared to Toscano and other Italian cigars it is well rolled and nicely presented. It would not be right to compare it to a Cuban, they wont be to everyones taste but they are unique and of interest to an adventurous palate or an Italian sympathiser. It lit well and with that first puff my taste buds were hit by an extraordinary combination of herbaceous notes, particularly mint and aniseed with supportive and very appealing dry, earthy tobacco flavours. It burned evenly and with a steadiness that allowed for a good quantity of smoke without being hot. The ash was almost white and very solid. The flavours and aroma remained rich and defined throughout and about halfway down the mint turned towards menthol and the whole experience was reminiscent of strolling through a rocky sun drenched herb garden. It smoked down further than I had expected and gave me about 40 mins of curious pleasure. It was certainly unusual but ve

NUB SG 358 Cigar - 1 Single

Gutted! Was looking forward to this but it let me down. Beautiful looking cigar which cut well and the unlit draw seemed ok. Once lit though the draw proved tight and it didnt really improve. The smoke output was poor. Light body during 1/3, which developed to the low side of medium by the 2/3, which is where it remained throughout. Reasonable burn which needed correcting twice. Draw became very hot halfway through 3/3, with no improvement to smoke output. Lasted a fraction over 40 mins. Overall disappointed, especially for the price. A shame.

Great Beginners and Everyday Smoke! Fantastic construction, even burn and great mild, creamy-coffee flavour. Smoked for just under an hour and flavour was great throughout. Will be buying again and checking out the other sizes.

NUB Cameroon 358 Cigar - 1 Single

Second time around with a Nub Cameroon- first go was disappointing and definitely not to my taste but - and this is the joy of cigars - this one was fantastic! V cut and single flame torch to light - excellent burn, smooth creamy (almost buttery) and toasted nut flavours right through with a great aroma. Voluminous smoke - upper medium in strength but never over powering. Great size too. Recommended.
