JANUARY SALE - Oscar Valladares The Oscar Maduro Robusto Cigar - 1 Single (End of Line)
Date Added: Friday 05 April, 2024
Tried this for novelty value but was pleasantly surprised. Lovely dark maduro wrapper which provided plenty of sweetness that worked as the perfect accompaniment to the feisty fillers. Plenty of nutty fruitiness going on and the smoke was cool and mellow. Burn was near perfect and yes, it got smoked almost to the cap. I think a year or so in the humidor might see something quite special develop. Impress your cigar buddies with the funky candela cover and an impressive cigar underneath. A totally approachable cigar for anyone, well worth a try.

JANUARY SALE - Bundle Deal - Peterson Nightcap Pipe Tobacco - 5 x 50g tin (Formerly Dunhill Range)
Date Added: Monday 01 April, 2024
I am a relatively new pipe smoker who has strong memories of my Grandfather smoking the (then) wonderful Condor Sliced. I decided to take up the pipe once I was past 55 and so have just run through all the old ?standards? - Condor, St Bruno, Three Nuns etc. All were disappointing. Not how I remembered pipe tobacco to be, I almost gave up. Then this ! Nightcap is such a wonderful smooth elegant and intoxicating flavour. Not strong or ?challenging? but just beautifully balanced and sensual. I have yet to try the G&H ?Lakelands? but Peterson?s Nightcap has reassured me that pipe tobacco can still be that heady delight and sensory tease that it always was. Like finding a fab malt amongst the boring supermarket ranges of ?guaranteed not to offend (or celight)? blended whiskies. A little reminiscent of a Maduro cigar. The tin is vacuum sealed?so get a few for ageing.

JANUARY SALE - Joya de Nicaragua Cinco De Cinco Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 31 March, 2024
Paired with Courvoisier VS Cognac. My first Joya, good open draw, excellent construction. On lighting, lots of smoke with lovely oaky, espresso, dark and nutty, barnyard and chocolate aromas and flavour.... Very nice black and red sweet pepper, with a hint of chili's on the retrohale, with chocolate chip cookies taste coating the palette. A very oily chewy smoke. Develops into a milk chocolate smooth cappuccino and finishes nutty and deep mahogany. Wow!

Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Corona Gorda Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 25 March, 2024
This is an interesting unit, with it's dual wrapper and all. Beautifully made it has to be said and this was borne out as it smoked its way gently and evenly to the nub. First impressions are very good, with an instant hit of chocolate and nuts, think a dark Ferrero Rocher maybe? Develops nicely and, when you get down to the band and (very delicately) remove it, the way in which the darker leaf melds in is quite a sight to behold. Unfortunately, for me at least, it didn't really add anything and the smoking just got a bit darker and monotonous in the final third. Overall though I enjoyed it and it will be definitely be a talking point if you get to share it with friends.
