Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour Churchill Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 11 January, 2025
Construction; The construction quality was of a high standard. Fine veins on the wrapper and reasonable draw on the pre-light. 1st Third; Acrid flavours of burnt toffee, Strong black pepper and a little sweetness. 2nd Third; Mellowed a little, more sweetness with less harshness. Final third; Black pepper flavour intensified, followed by an Ammonia aftertaste that proved un-smokable . I was unable to finish the cigar and was left with what pipe smokers call tongue bite, which persisted to the following day. Very disappointed with this cigar and will not be buying a second.

Quick smoke, held the ash well and lots of smoke considering the size of this cigar. Started to unravel, but held it together. Review says it’s full strength, but didn’t get that, would say it’s more medium. Suppose it’s good value for a 15 mins smoke, but not sure I’d buy again.

Don Tomas Brazil Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Strong coffee, dark chocolate and roasted nuts with a nice amount of spice. Construction is pretty good, just a little unwrapping under the band which was easily solved. I would say that this cigar is a medium strength and it took me just over an hour smoke to the nub.

This isn't undrinkable - quite the opposite really; it;s very pleasant, but it's not worth £100. Much better stuff out there at this price.

Davidoff Winston Churchill Raconteur Petit Panatela Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 31 December, 2024
As expected from Davidoff, the construction was excellent and the draw pretty good - I guillotine cut this and it took me c35-40 minutes to smoke it at a very leisurely pace. It held the ash well, departing after about an inch accumulated on the foot. Although the construction, draw and overall aesthetic of the cigar was good, the taste aspect let it down. No real flavour notes to mention, just a reasonably pleasant medium strength tobacco flavour. I've had much more satisfying and complex cigars at this price point so this was disappointing, especially as Davidoff is one of my favourite brands.

Really enjoyed this smaller cigar. Definitely full flavoured so not for those who prefer something lighter or not strong. Burnt evenly. One of the best cigars I’ve had recently but then I’m no expert.
