Davidoff Primeros Dominican Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 04 August, 2017
Bought one as a sampler and I have to say that as predominantly a Cuban man, I find that this is comparable and overall, a superb cigar. Robust, rich and bursting with flavour. Excellent draw (punched mine) and a very even burn. Loads of after taste and a thoroughly satisfying smoke over 30 minutes or so. Small genuinely is sometimes beautiful.

Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed Robusto Cigar - 1 Single (Discontinued)
Date Added: Tuesday 18 July, 2017
Davidoff Nicaraguan box pressed robusto is a great format measuring in at 5” x 48. To create this unique smoke, Davidoff employs the finest aged long filler tobaccos from the nutrient dense regions of Estelí, Jalapa, Ometepe, and Condega, and covers them with a stunning dark Habano Nicaragua Oscuro wrapper in the box pressed format. Classic format is composed by Nicaraguan 10yo Rosado Wrapper. Oscuro wrapper create a bit more spicy experience on your palate. The cigar begins with a sweet caramel taste, nutty and tiny spicy notes that develops into roasted coffee with earthy notes becoming more spicy and leaving a peppery earthy kick at the end. During the smoke the flavours are consistence but the strength of the spicy notes changes all the time during the smoke. David. Turmeaus Est. 1817. Cigars and Whisky Liverpool.

Yamasa region is a lovely area to cultivate tobacco. Swampy, humid and drenched with regular, heavy rainfall, the soil in the region has a low pH count, but is rich in minerals. These minerals, or micro-nutrients, include boron, iron and zinc, and play an essential role in contributing to the quality of the tobacco leaf. The climate is very similar to the Cuban climate, and therefore hugely beneficial to the growing of tobacco, the Dominican Republic is primarily tropical. There are, of course, local variations in temperature and rainfall but in general, highs of 104°F are common in protected valleys, as are lows of zero in mountainous areas.

This is not the first time that Davidoff used Yamasa Wrapper and binder. They created the Puro D’ Oro range which won awards in 2012. Composed of 100% Dominican tobacco which was the Dream of
