GUANTANAMERA

Guantanamera cigars are a relatively new cigar having been created and released in 2002, this cigar is now one of our most popular budget priced Cuban cigars.

The brand was named after perhaps Cubas' most well known song "Guajira Guantanamera" (Spanish for peasant girl from Guantánamo") by Joseito Fernández which can be heard in just about every bar in Cuba every evening.

The Guantanamera range comprises light strength machine-made cigars using short filler tobacco from the lesser Vuelta Arriba region.

Guantanamera cigars have pre-cut heads, a cigar cutter is not required.

Tasting Notes

Machine made, 100% Cuban tobacco from Vuelta Arriba region. The ultimate Cuban cigar for a beginner or for any cigar smoker who likes a very mild and light bodied cigar.

I found this a disappoiting smoke. Firstly i found the cigar built wasn't great was very loose.the intial taste was nice spicy and woody, but then that was it. It never really developed. I realise this was a cheap cigar..it was better than the Minuto. I personally would but any more...better of adding a bit more money and buy one of the inka Cigars

You can't go wrong with this cigar for the money. Lasting around 40 minutes, it makes a great social smoke without breaking the bank. Mild and easy, good burn all the way through.

Beautiful little cigar that captures the Cuban flavour perfectly and priced incredibly competitively. The downside is that they have a tendency to unravel slightly and that they don't last as long as a hand rolled cigar as they aren't packed as tightly. Nice enough pull and consistent flavours throughout but they just don't look as pretty as there hand rolled brothers so not a great gift or special occasion cigar.

Very good smoke for the money, burns well and an easy draw. Smooth and balanced flavours. Will be smoking this again and would highly recommended to a beginner.

Tonight I'm smoking the guantanamera cristale which was given to me as a gift to my surprise the cigar had loads fuzz on the Wapper so it must of been kept in a good humidified state once I asked the person who gave me the stick he said it was over 20years old! Well into its vintage years. after inspecting the stick further it had a lovey even pack and a pre cut cap that of which had a lovely draw other than the the wrapper was very toothy and a gorgeous milk chocolate colour, the pre light aroma is a mouth watering ceder and honey the pre light taste was even more spectacular a lovely ceder and dry hay with that honey too can't wait to light this stick as it should be a very smooth smoke due to its age. Once i toasted the stick the ceder is apparent with the honey mixed in and a very unique taste that iv never experienced before think about wet freshly cut grass well it tastes like that very usual not mass smoke out put but what smoke is there is delivering a nice coating on the pallet and just as I thought that smoke is very smooth 20 mins in and entering the second third the ash just dropped off in a solid chunk flavour wise that fresh grass note has faded leaving the ceder and honey on the draw as for the finish it has a nice aged tobacco however still not much smoke out put and there practically no finish all the flavour are delivered on the draw, burn however has been razor sharp all the way down so far the aroma is a nice ceder About 45 mins in entering the second third no real change in flavours still the aged tobacco honey and ceder I'm also detecting a slight coffee come through. still razor sharp burn and a short finish but the smoke is still very smooth Finish the stick at one hour ten minutes as I was able to smoke right down until my fingers could not longer hold on overall a nice stick a mild to medium body with no strength apparent not many transitions but still a delightful stick with the ceder and honey leading the way with a nice aged tobacco coming through on the last two thirds with a hint of coffee to tie it all together and all the way down a razor sharp burn. I'd recommend getting this stick if you want a classic Cuban tobacco flavours at a budget price.
