I did not purchase this cigar from C. Gars as the longer version was gifted to me, the experience is my own and was enjoyable. This review will be posted on the other Churchill bands as the flavour remains the same but the cigar band is the only thing that differs. The Romeo y Julieta Churchill Short is one of those cigars that instantly feels special from the moment you pick it up. For someone like me still building experience, this cigar set a new benchmark for what a refined, classic Cuban should deliver. It’s beautifully constructed—firm, smooth, and fragrant before lighting. On the cold draw, I got soft notes of cedar, earth, and a hint of sweetness. Once lit, the first third opened with that signature Romeo y Julieta creaminess, layered with mild spice and wood. The smoke was smooth and aromatic, never harsh, and the draw was perfectly balanced. As it developed, gentle floral and nutty tones appeared, with moments of cocoa and toasted almond weaving in. The burn line was impressively even throughout, showing the kind of craftsmanship the brand is known for. By the final third, the flavors deepened but stayed elegant—more earth, spice, and roasted coffee, finishing on a creamy, satisfying note. The overall experience felt timeless and balanced from start to finish. The Churchill isn’t just a cigar—it’s an education in smoothness and structure. For me, it’s one of the most complete Cubans I’ve tried so far: refined, aromatic, and deeply enjoyable. Rating: 9/10

My first Romeo y Julieta. It was a pleasant smoke although muted by being slightly over humidified, due to the amount of rain we have had recently. It was extremely smooth from start to finish with a savoury roasted nut flavour and occasional background sweetness. I will have to order another and make sure to dry box it next time!

What a well built cigar this was and a lovely smoke to the nub. Lots of creamy smoke with each puff with no problems encountered at all. 1hr of bliss with this smoke and typical smooth flavours and never too spicy. Nice to treat yourself now and then. Happy New year to all.

Initial problems with the outer wrapper. Was split at the lighting end, and split at the mouth end when I made the cut. Managed to smoke it besides, and it ended up a great smoke despite the wrapper problems. Easy draw. Enjoyed it with an Admiral Rodney rum from St. Lucia. Not too strong, not too weak. Leathery and peppery and creamy smoke. Real Cuban flavour. Getting cocoa and chocolatey notes which worked with the Caribbean rum. Uneven burn that needed touching up with my Colibri lighter. Despite the wrapper issues it was a great smoke - would not stop me from trying the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill Cigar again. The draw was superlative throughout. I really struggle with a tight draw.

Picked up a box of 10 today from Turmeaus Chester. Couldn’t wait so took one out this evening. Recently I’ve been smoking H. Upmann Half Corona’s and a couple of Cohiba Siglo II’s. This cigar is just beautiful. The effortless draw is the first thing that pleases, I just love it when you don’t have to fight a cigar. The burn is perfectly even. The 1st third had light, chocolatey flavours with the coolest taste. The middle was more heavy with complexity and the end didn’t disappoint with all the classic flavours expected from Romeo’s. 10/10 - loved it and if the rest are just as nice I think I’ll be getting another box in a month or two. Also to note, the team in Chester were fantastic as always, a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Team.
