Jose L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Habano not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region, but also because it is made using the totally hand made, short filler technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880's from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century, and started to make cigars.

Tasting Notes

This medium-bodied cigar will provide an earthy taste with a great draw and creamy smoke. Hints of salt and tanginess will hit the lips giving an interesting flavour.

Nicely priced Cuban. Wasnt sure on first visual impressions, but once lighted, it was a good smoke for a good price! written by Ad

I forgot one little detail: in Holland cigars are a lot cheaper. Let me stay befriended with this company, and just recommand to you all a stay in Holland. The weather is not that bad here, after all. And Utrecht is a nice city (the shop is called "De Oude Tijd", close to the "Janskerk") written by Andreas van der Velde

Bought these accidentally in my favorite shop in Utrecht, Holland, where they were recommanded as a cheap but very acceptable alternative to more expensive cubans. Acceptable indeed, though i liked the "Cremas" better; the "Nacionales" is really too filled with tobacco, which makes it burn uneven. But I like the taste, and for the price its good, to my opinion. written by Andreas van der Velde

As a cigar smoking novice, I decided on a box of these cigars as they seemed good value for money....and I think I made a good choice! My first one from the box burned as evenly as one could wish for, and the taste was very pleasing- I can tell you they go particularly well with a good quality Shiraz Cabernet;-). In all, I would recommend these to anyone looking to start smoking Cuban cigars on a budget, or otherwise. Thanks to Mr Piedra, and thanks to Mitchell at Cgars Ltd for all his help and advice. 5 Star rating reserved only for perfection....and Muhammed Ali. 4/5 is what i say. written by Roon, UK
