The D4 is not a cigar for the faint hearted or the impatient this cigar needs respect and lots of TLC before it can be enjoyed to the full this is a cigar that cannot be really smoked strait out of the box on the day of delivery if you do it may be harsh and bitter it needs at least a month of rest in your humidor before the harshness and bitterness start to fade away and the true flavours of tobacco and spice start to shine through this is a cigar that the longer you leave them the better they become an aged D4 is one of the finest Robusto cigars in the world and a joy to behold.

I am really sad to say me and this particular vitola haven't really had a great relationship. After giving it 3 attempts I had to declare this one a 'one-to-forget' cigar. I have a lot of respect for Partagas and have given a few other vitolas the time of day to re-instate a love for one of the most recognisable brands. (SerieD5 Limited Ed & Serie PNo.2 have both been FANTASTIC!). I'd definitely need some convincing about these. The tastes were too earthy, too harsh and a bit too bitter for me, in all 3 sticks. I've seen really great reviews of these cigars. This goes to show the true beauty of the cigar community, I love how everyones pallet takes to different notes and flavours and truly respect this highly popular cigar. Fantastic Robusto one of my favourites with the Hoyo Epicure No2. Always keep a few of these in my humidor. I find them a really nice morning smoke and I have never had any quality issues with the D4. Lovely draw, lots of smoke and aroma. A great cigar....

Excellent! Firstly, noticed how effortless the draw was and the fragrance was mesmerising. Then the full volume of flavour kicks in. Earthy and nutty, with just enough fruity sweetness to balance. Fresh taste, almost like crisp, green apple with fitting spice undertones. Did not want it to end, even though it lasted me well towards an hour and a half. Highly recommend

Just smoked one of these from an aged sampler from C.Gars 2007. Nice and spicy to start with a sweet finish then moving on to leathery with flowery notes. Half way through this cigar it became super smooth, rich and creamy with a nutty finish. This is what cigars are all about. The cigar loosened up the last third and became a bit hot near the end, but maybe I smoked it a little to fast. I got about 45 mins out of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish I could afford to buy lots of them and store them for 5 years. The 5 year old one I smoked was a real treat.
