If there is one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, it is Partagas. The factory was opened in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas and it has been making the cigars that bear his name ever since.

A Partagas is immediately recognisable by its deep, earthly flavour. The character of its blend springs from a selection of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone and chosen for their unmistakable richness of flavour and aroma.

The best known of all Partagas is the Serie D No. 4, the robusto size that formed part of the legendary Partagas alphabet series that dates back to the 1930's. In 2005 a Piramide, the Partagas Serie P No. 2, was added to the range, which fast became a cigar of choice amongst lovers of full flavoured Habanos. In 2011 the Serie D No. 5 and the heavy ring gauge Serie E No. 2 extended the alphabet series once again.

Tasting Notes

This cigar will definitely improve with age. With its countless flavours and spice sweet flavour, this cigar is a must for Partagas fans. A noble smoke which expresses the rich, earthy spices associated with Partagas. The superb blend makes this an ideal candidate for laying down and aging.

"...Light, nuanced woodiness becomes more pronounced, picking up light chocolate notes, leather and a malty finish. A medium-bodied torpedo..."

Tried my first one of the Serie P cigars - they absolutely fantastic. My normal cigars are Siglo VI and HdeM's Piramides and these Partagas are definately in the same class. The taste is at first subtle and smoke is full but as the cigar warms up a complex flavour developes and the taste is both wonderful but somewhat elusive. Suffice to say I nearly burnt my fingers trying to smoke it to the last and was sad when I had to finish. Just bought another 3 and am smiling at the anticipation of getting home. It is easy to see why this cigar is getting rave reviews already.Perfectly tied, and a great draw, although as expected, still a little young. One to give the Monti Cristo a good run for it's money. First class !! written by ASHLEY
