Jose L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Habano not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region, but also because it is made using the totally hand made, short filler technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880's from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century, and started to make cigars.

Tasting Notes

This medium-bodied cigar will provide an earthy taste with a great draw and creamy smoke. Hints of salt and tanginess will hit the lips giving an interesting flavour.

Not recommended. Kept going out. No flavour. Seemed poor quality.

Really unimpressed with this cigar, yes it's build is good, the draw I'd excellent but there's nothing too them. May aswell be drawing through a straw. I've only had a couple so maybe I'm being unfair, but the last 1/3 was the only decent part of the smoke. I would highly recommend you don't smoke this cigar and buy a La Invicta Robusto for less money instead. Because atleast that has a bit of kick to it.

A decent smoke from the get-go; smoke filled with a peppery, woodsy flavor. Notes of pepper plant, spice, and oak wood power this little stick. Though not the best ash you'll find on a cigar, and most definitely not a memorable smoke, stocking up on a few is recommended, especially if you need cheap sticks for quick fixes.

Very nice cuban flavour throughout, medium strength and decent draw. Great for the price, will buy again!

I was very impressed with this cigar for the money. Although many reviewers have commented that they have received plugged ones, I have been lucky so far as all that I have had have had a nice draw. Flavour wise, these certainly have the Cuban mojo going on, although obviously not the full-flavour of a Bolivar but a reasonably priced Cuban all the same. Hints of cocoa and dark earthiness from the out-set and not getting too hot towards the end considering the gauge. Very happy with these when money is tight!
