GUANTANAMERA

Guantanamera cigars are a relatively new cigar having been created and released in 2002, this cigar is now one of our most popular budget priced Cuban cigars.

The brand was named after perhaps Cubas' most well known song "Guajira Guantanamera" (Spanish for peasant girl from Guantánamo") by Joseito Fernández which can be heard in just about every bar in Cuba every evening.

The Guantanamera range comprises light strength machine-made cigars using short filler tobacco from the lesser Vuelta Arriba region.

Guantanamera cigars have pre-cut heads, a cigar cutter is not required.

Tasting Notes

New in 2009, the Minutos is the latest tubed cigar from Guantanamera. Made by using the best blend of tobacco leaves from Vuelta Arriba.

It's not quite as bad as some reviews have mentioned, but it aint much good either. Got halfway through it and had to let it go. Burned fairly even for me, gave good thick smoke, but wasn't especially pleasant. There are cheaper cigars which are far more enjoyable. Go in their direction instead.

I'm fairly new to serious cigar smoking. I've picked the odd singleton up in shops almost at random. Last tried was a Quintero tubulares which I thoruoghly enjoyed. Looking to broaden my horizons I bought a sampler pack here and this was the first one I've smoked. It burned very unevenly, the wrapper peeled away from the tip as I progressed and the whole thing tasted just like a Hamlet miniature. A most disappointing cigar but I see it is at the bottom end of the price scale so one shouldn't expect too much.

Directed at Alfred.. with all due respect, when dealing with just about everything in life you get what you pay for. These cigars are at the low end of the machine made spectrum. I smoked one once whilst in Canada and honestly I found it to be almost offensive. However you can't blame the merchant as it is his job to provide you with as many options as possible. If your looking for a low priced cigar that is absolutly delicious try the Partagas Short. At roughly £7 it is fabulous. H Upmann corona juniors are also great. Just a side bar, I've been shopping with the C.Gars team for years and anytime ive recieved acigar that has been damaged in shipping They have replaced it no matter what the cost.

Did not look or feel great so no great disappointment to find it lacking all round. Structure collapsed in the final third. Not so bad at the price, I suppose. Smoke something else if you can.
