GUANTANAMERA

Guantanamera cigars are a relatively new cigar having been created and released in 2002, this cigar is now one of our most popular budget priced Cuban cigars.

The brand was named after perhaps Cubas' most well known song "Guajira Guantanamera" (Spanish for peasant girl from Guantánamo") by Joseito Fernández which can be heard in just about every bar in Cuba every evening.

The Guantanamera range comprises light strength machine-made cigars using short filler tobacco from the lesser Vuelta Arriba region.

Guantanamera cigars have pre-cut heads, a cigar cutter is not required.

Tasting Notes

New in 2009, the Minutos is the latest tubed cigar from Guantanamera. Made by using the best blend of tobacco leaves from Vuelta Arriba.

Second Guantanamera for me. I am not a fan of this brand. 1st 3rd and yes it tastes Cuban but there is something wrong. Smokes really badly. What should be cream has been churned to sickly rich butter. What depth it has is in the wrong direction. You get a bit more comfortable with it by the 2nd 3rd but y'know, "Stockholm Syndrome" (give me my Cohiba minis!) Lay them down for a year or so and you will just get a milder version of the above at the same time as cursing yourself for wasting precious real estate in your humidor. This brand needs to be taken out to the Morro Castle and shot by Che himself. Spend a few copper coins more and you will be in a better place. Thank goodness Cgars have me stocked up on the Upmanns & Cohibas for Xmas.

This was very disappointing! It's cowes week, and the one thing that I want to do is to have a great time and enjoy the atmosphere, I decided to sit down in the marina and smoke a cigar; what a way to top the day off, I opened the tube and to my horror, the cigar had a rather large gash indented at the top of the cigar (leading from the band to the cap), instantly I knew that this was going to be a tricky smoke; I wasn't wrong, it was near impossible to draw and it had to be relit numerous times throughout the time i was partly smoking it. I disposed of the cigar half way through because it wouldn't smoke, a true disappointment and without a doubt... The worst cigar I have ever had. (Didn't go into taste because it was harsh and the construction was diabolical)

A very Good Morning and Afternoon Cigar, don't know what all the negative reviews are about. I would recomend them, good price as well.

Smells good (pre light), burnt well, just very bland and one dimensional.

One of several budget cigars I have tried recently. Really did not like this at all. Very bitter and a harsh smoke for me. Not the worst I've had but pretty close to it. I much prefered the Jose L Piedra Czadores
