H. Upmann was the first brand I got into and I frequently recommend them for beginners, due to the blend's mild flavour profile. However, the magnum 50 packs considerably more punch than many of the other vitolas, with a surprisingly leathery flavour and sweet, subtle hints of honey. The 50 ring gauge allows plumes of thick smoke from a very easy draw. The increased strength of this stick makes it perfect for people who have enjoyed sizes like the Majestic and Corona juniors, but are yearning for something with a bit more power! -Calum, Turmeaus Chester

Sitting here in the quiet of a lovely evening I finally took out this cigar from a 3 month stint in my humidor and dedicated some quality time to this great cigar. Not a beast of a double or a Churchill but still a suitable size and gauge for some well spent herfing. At first I was a little surprised by the harshness but settling in it transitioned into a wonderfully mellow smoke, easy draw and plentiful white fragrant smoke. Excellent construction and burn, though the ash dropped after less than an inch little flowering and not a single burn issue. In my opinion will only get better with some age to it. The final third is a pleasure and am reluctant to put it down. Soft, mellow and worth every penny. Would I buy again, you bet, but as a box so I can pop them away for a bit and dream of another day when I can sit back with the sun shining and time to dedicate to it. Thankfully still two more maturing away so will have to wait before I can justify to myself to buy again, what a pity..

A great looking and sizeable cigar that burns evenly. It has a fairly loose draw, and gives plentiful of smoke. Flavours begins with cedar and maybe hints of honey. This kind of faded away at the mid point. Then for the remaining half it remained very woody and just a tobacco like taste. It has nice mild aroma, but flavours became unintresting in the last third. This has been resting in my humidor for just over 2 months - perhaps and aged one would make it better.

Bought a 3 pack of these H.Upmann Cigars - Now I smoke nothing else!! The light flavours and textures definetly suit my personal tastes, great construction and an even burn with matches makes these baby's easy to smoke and enjoy! I've tried Churchills, Cohiba's and Punch cigars but as of a few weeks past I decided to make these my only purchase from now on - just the ideal length and ring size, a manly looking cigar but one that won't pete you out like a super Habano. Weather your new to cigars or just want something different, lighter in texture than a hard smoke maybe? - these H.Up mann's are a real treat. Can't wait to order more in the future, this box of 10 are on the top of my wish list.

A friend of mine, who is far more of a cigar connoisseur then I, told me that this is one of his all time favourite cigars. To an extent I can see why. It is a good manly looking size but won't quite take the commitment that a double corona or churchill might take. It has a good dominant flavour whilst not being too strong. For me the underlying taste notes were rich coffee beans in a cloth sack and probably would make a fine companion to oily dark expresso. For me though there was perhaps a little too much of the bitterness/sourness in this cigar which many others may like, but it is the only reason why this cigar for me does not have 5 stars. I acknowledge the fact however that I have a habit of making this last comment about some cigars because I smoke them too 'young' and will be the first one to edit or re-write this review once I have aged the Magnum 50's for a little longer... I am certain that should you like the bitterness of rich dark coffee's then ths cigar will match up just perfectly for you.
