Introducing The Singleton of Glen Ord 17 Year Old Into the Blue, part of Diageo’s ‘Special Release' single malt scotch whisky collection.

Bottled at 55.5% ABV, this release takes the distillery’s smooth Highland style on an unexpected journey.

A 17-year-old matured Glen Ord, which is a combination of single malt finished in Mexican Mezcal cask snad the other in 2nd fill Spanish Sherry casks.

This is a dram that pushes boundaries while remaining unmistakably Singleton – layered, adventurous, and full of discovery.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Honeyed pears come out, along with golden raisins and some baked apple. After this initial impression it gets drier, with a vegetal edge and some aromatic spice.

Palate: Bittersweet, with a firm earthy side and a clear saltiness. Green pepper, hints of roasted agave and ginger, along with savoury elements like tapenade and white pepper. The mezcal influence stands out and even takes over the usually fruity Glen Ord spirit.

Finish: Medium to long, still quite earthy and savoury, with peppery notes, leather and mezcal smoke on top of orchard fruits.
